How to Save Money at Dr Menk's Mobile Vet Care
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Took my Frenchie that I take care of once in a while to get her checkup. The place is very clean, friendly and the customer service is great. If you want your family pet to feel pampered, this is the place to go. They work on big animals and small animals. Remember if your little or big mascot is important to you, then this is the place to go. Your biggest mistake will be not looking out for your pet!!!! Btw, the animals love the vet techs, vets that work there. Never heard any pets bark at them, only at the other animals. Hahahahhaha

My Issy was saved by Dr. Menk's Vet Care after an accidental poisoning in 2016. Now she is going to be 16 years old this year and her age has really started to manifest itself. I held Issy as she collapsed in my arms when I told her that mom had died. She laid in my lap as I was grieving the loss of my pregnancies and is always nearby comforting me when I am sick. The many nights I was up late studying to get my B.A. Degree she would drag a blanket to my feet so she could be there with me. We have traveled to three different states, gone to a ghost town, seen wild bison, elk, antelope, deer, mountain goats, and even a black bear. None of this would have happened if I had lost her in 2016. She was able to be seen this past week and was treated with compassion during her appointment. The reality of her quality of life and options coming up are very clear. Dr. Menks was gentle in discussing the different options as reality is sometimes hard. In the past it has been hard at times to get an appointment, but she made a point to ask me to contact her on Monday with an update on her condition and to call at any time and if needed, they will get her in. I was worried that when the time came, I would have to take her to a stranger, but I find peace in knowing that when she is ready to cross the rainbow bridge, I can take her somewhere that she will be cared for in a respectful and compassionate manner.

We have been bringing our fur babies here for 9 years, like all places of business you can have good and bad experiences. Over the years there has been some not so pleasant staff but as for care for our animals i would say a perfect score also love the fact that Dr is very caring but does not beat around the bush when it comes to caring for your animals.

We have been going here for 8 years and have loved our experience up until about the last year and half. The hour changes of no longer working weekends makes it extremely difficult for working people to get an appointment especially when they close at 4 and the only day they are open later is Thursday. The last time we had an appointment we showed up on time and waited in the lobby for an hour without anyone telling us that there would be a delay. I scheduled an appointment with them and the time we agreed upon was a Thursday slot at 4:30. I know have a notification saying that my appointments are at 3:30 and 4:00 and for a different one of my dogs than I was originally told at the time of the booking. We really wanted to try and stay because they had been amazing but it’s not the same quality of service anymore. We will be finding a new vet.

I brought my female Newfoundland into Dr. Menks for a C-section. She performed the C-section and brought 10 beautiful babies into the world! Their staff is professional and kind. They are knowledgeable and professional. They additionally recognized and caught an ear infection and provided the meds she needed. I’m very pleased to work with Dr Menks and her staff.
