How to Save Money at Pet Care Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I had a very disappointing experience at Bellevue Value Pet Clinic on June 7, 2024. My 1-year-old dog woke up with a sudden nosebleed, and since our regular vet clinic was closed, we needed to find a different clinic urgently. Bellevue Value Pet Clinic promised the shortest wait time, so we decided to go there. However, upon arrival, we ended up waiting for at least 45 minutes after checking in, with no indication of when a vet would be available. The staff seemed unconcerned and uninterested in helping us. We were asked to weigh our dog ourselves, which is typically handled by vet staff, and the clinic staff just watched us struggle. After waiting for an hour without any assistance, we decided to leave. We were given a refund, but were told it would take 14 days to process, which added to our frustration in an already stressful situation. The clinic staff showed no regret or concern for our dog's health and safety. Additionally, the clinic appeared to be undergoing renovations and smelled strongly of paint, making it an uncomfortable environment for both us and our dog. The examination rooms were empty, lacking the usual equipment and tables found in a typical vet clinic. The whole experience felt unprofessional and almost like a scam. We will never return to Bellevue Value Pet Clinic and do not recommend it to anyone, especially in an emergency.

My 10 year old cat, foxy, was attacked by raccoon in December of 2022. She was bit on the leg and scratched on the eye. At first, her eye was swelling shut and I was worried it was becoming infected. I took her to Bellevue Pet Clinic and they gave her antibiotic eye drops and instructed us to continue to treat her twice a day for a week. Her eye was beginning to open and things were looking up! Then a week later, foxy began to limp. That is when I noticed that she had a bite on her leg that had began to pus and bleed (it’s almost like it worsened overnight). No other clinic could take her on such short notice and I knew that she had to be seen ASAP due to her behavior (isolating herself, limited movement) and the fact that she would not stop licking her wound. I was shocked to see how fast everything started to go downhill. The day of her original visit, there was no visible wound so it must have gotten infected and swelled. I called Bellevue Value Pet Clinic immediately and they got me in the same day. They cleaned her wound and told me she would need surgery ASAP. They performed surgery on her leg the next morning. All the staff were very kind to me considering how scared I was for my baby. The prices were reasonable and DEFINITELY less expensive in contrast to other pet clinics. She had several visits after (bandage changes) and she was recovering so well! Foxy gets nervous and anxious when at the vet, but they treated her so well and the care for her by the staff was heartwarming! I love how the staff at this clinic genuinely love and care for their furry friends unlike other clinics who just see these animals as nothing more than a check. This was definitely the worst scare I’ve had regarding my cat and I am so so thankful for the vets and staff that helped her along the way. She is back to her cuddly and lovable self now and I have this clinic to thank! I will leave photos of foxy in her first couple days since she was hurt and a photo of her now! Again, thank you x1000 to the staff at Bellevue Vet Clinic!!

We have been visiting this clinic since 2010. However, in my recent visits, I lost my trust and decided to move to another vet. They seem to have no interest to my pets’ health but money. We were required to have several repeat tests for my dog and cat from a specific doctor who keeps offering medicine, even without the test result. Last year, he prescribed a $100 antibiotic medicine because he believed my cat has infection, so he said you don’t need to wait for the test results because 99% chance is infection and insists on taking the antibiotic. If so, why he ordered the testing? Then another day, the test results came back negative, but we had paid the $100. Couple months ago, the same doctor called me about my dog’s blood test and said my dog had typhoid problem even her TSH is in a heath range, and asked me to do an advanced blood work for another 100-200$. I gave 2 stars because other doctors we saw seem nice and for the last 14 years visit.

My 7 lbs. toy poodle was seen by one of the veterinarians (Dr. Reddy) for a first time routine exam. My dog is typically easy to approach and friendly yet this vet was afraid of my dog (she growled at him) and asked me to hold her the entire time. In fact, he barely performed a minimal examination and had to leave the room to grab his stethoscope yet never really used it. He didn't move her fur away when looking in her ears and was afraid to look in the back of her mouth to look at her back teeth. When I returned home I called the office to ask for the owner's number so I could give them feedback, but I was told to leave my number and they would give it to the owner and have them call me. I never received a call back. When it came time to pay my credit card bill I filed a dispute for the $77 charge, but even then there was no attempt by the owner to follow up with me about my dissatisfaction and the charge was not reversed. I tried to send an email to the email address on the website but that was returned to me as undeliverable. I would appreciate a refund from my 12/21/23 visit, customer #14788 invoice #95042.

Initially I took Marley my 13 yrs old Chihuahua back in May 2023. Dr. Kennedy was great, very detailed and made visit very pleasant. She longer works there so Marley saw Dr. Borin after several months for the follow up.Meds for heart and lung were prescribed by the doctor. Marley has late stage CHF but medications are helping him. Then I received a call from the vet today saying they are going to charge $7 every time/month for his prescription. Never heard such a thing so I asked us it just once or every month? The receptionist put me on couple times, sounds like she was not certain about anything. So I asked her to leave a message to Dr. Borin to call me. I do not mind getting charge once but every month? Ridiculous if I may say. I will see if Dr. Borin will call me. I will post the update.
