How to Save Money at Davis Ford Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
He spent 3 hours with us. A new beagle frim a family that disregarded her health for 2 years. Ear infections, serious UTI, Ehrlichia tick desease and hookworms. The doctor explained everything very clearly. HE took the time to do onsite bloodwork and treated us like we were part of his family, not kick us out the door to do a next patient. “We” were the only ones in there which helped the new dog feel comfortable- even with me. She was not upset or uncomfortable with his gentle staff. We just wanted shots and now have to wait after her UTI antibiotics then after that, doxy pills for a month for the tick disease I did not know about. He explained she wasnt feeling well and both meds could make her really sick together. He also said the shots could nake her sick and suggested we wait til september wgen she is all clear of sicknesses and infections. Very very impressed with his kindness and individualized attention, even his staff giving me prices upfront!i like that they dont close in the middle of the day also. Just wish they did boarding since my new rescue dog likes them. All vets are pricey, so yo everyone, THIS one IS well worth the money! He saved a life by treating my new dog that had zero vet care in a home with a larger dog that bowled her over and abused her and a previous owner with many children and money was tight. This dog’s personality is coming out and she gets to play without kids and dogs stealing her toys. She gets to really shine, knowing that she is feeling better and not so scared of everything. Thank you a million times over! I highly reccomend this VET if you want a doctor abd staff TO really give you quality time in NO rush!

I couldn’t possibly recommend Davis Ford Animal Hospital and Dr. Mesfin Tsadiku any more. True acts of kindness aren’t always the easiest to come by, but occasionally you stumble upon an individual or group that does something so genuinely kind that it stops you in your tracks. We lost our beloved family dog two weeks ago suddenly to an aggressive cancer. He deteriorated quickly, and being the weekend our normal Clinic was closed. We tried at least 10 other animal hospitals working from closest in proximity to us, and we ended up taking him to Davis Ford Animal Hospital. They were unbelievably kind, accommodating, supportive and informative during our time there as we said goodbye. That itself would have been worth this 5 star review, but that’s not why I’m writing this. Two weeks after our dog passed, we received a hand written card from Davis Ford Animal Hospital and staff along with paw prints and a print of his nose. These prints stopped me dead in my tracks. We hadn’t thought to collect his prints before, and it was something I have thought about and wished we did many times Since. This animal hospital went so far above and beyond to gift our family these last memories of our sweet boy, I could never thank them enough. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

The person at the reception is awesome, they do give you all the options that your pet needs and you can choose what you can afford at the moment. They don't put a ton of pressure on you. Some of us can afford it. Overall they are a good clinic.

I was a resident of PWC for almost ten years. There are two veterinary clinics in east PWC that are the best, IMO. This is one of them. My wife adopted a cat from the county shelter with the intent of bringing him overseas. Months prior to our departure, the doctor and staff here went above and beyond with helping us get the paperwork needed to transport our pet. I hit a snag with APHIS regarding the paperwork (postage), and the personnel informed me of the issue quicky. I submitted the updated postage. They forwarded it to APHIS, who received it and gave the clinic notification on receipt. The staff at the clinic called me to let me know that everything was back on track. It is 10 am on the day prior of my departure and I received the required travel documents for my cat. Thank you very much, Davis Ford Animal Clinic, for helping me with caring for our cat. My senior cat needed urgent care and when a dozen other animal Hospitals couldn’t see us same day, they did. Ultimately & devastatingly, our 17 year old cat needed to be laid to rest. The Doc was realistic, showed us & explained clearly the problems & his opinions for both sides. The Doc and the staff were above and beyond kind & compassionate. They Stayed an hour and a half after closing and made a horrible situation for us, the best it could have been. 10/10 would recommend.
