How to Save Money at Pet Care Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I have never been here before and for my first time there, I was very impressed. I was able to get my dog in with the same day urgent care. First thing in the morning I called and the answering staff was AMAZING!! I got there in person and everyone was so nice. I new my fur baby was in good hands. Was able to get her antibiotics and she is on the road to recovery. The best part is they called me the next day to see how she was doing and if I needed anything additional. Highly recommend!! 5+ stars for me!!

Very reasonable prices as well as knowledgeable and friendly staff. Our 10 year old dog just had 2 masses removed and thanks to the Pet Care staff he is recovering happily. Thanks to all of you!

I am always very happy with my visits to Petcare. The staff is friendly and makes sure I understand everything that’s happening. My ferret loves the staff too and always gets all the care (and extra head scratches) she needs. Dr. Kimbral is her favorite but she’s always had a great experience with every vet she’s seen. Additionally, the prices aren’t super crazy compared to other vets I’ve been to.

I took my dog here for the first time and I am so pleased with the care she received! Everyone was extremely friendly and very attentive to all of my concerns about my dog. The tech we saw, and the vet, were both wonderful. I left feeling really good about my dog’s health and future care. I even received a call the next day checking in to see if I had any other questions or concerns. Excellent service!

If I could give them 10 stars, I would. The entire staff here is professional, knowledgeable, friendly, efficient, and most importantly they truly care about animals and value their lives, and they show it. We had an experience here that totally blew me away, it was so beautifully done. Our sweet little sausage dog, Lola Mae, had her last vet visit to transition into the great beyond after seventeen years of living the good life and trying to steal our food. The presiding vet and staff treated her, and us, with a totally unexpected amount of sensitivity, compassion, time, and understanding. They explained everything perfectly and the whole process was smooth. The room was blanketed, softly lit, with Kleenex boxes a noise machine in the corner playing water sounds. They gave us time with her as she grew sleepy and handed me a wooden heart with a doorbell attached to it, so that when I was ready to say goodbye they would know. Incredible. I didn't notice at the time (too much water in my eyes) but today when I went to pick up Lola's ashes I saw they have a candle in the lobby with a sign that says if the candle is lit, someone is saying goodbye to a beloved family member and would you please be quiet and respectful. Jeez, man, that is really something else. Little sweet touches like that go way above & beyond a busy vet office's duties but make such a big difference! Thank you guys for making this experience as lovely as it could possibly have been, and for your deep devotion to the well being of our family, our pets.
