How to Save Money at Copper’s Integrative Veterinary Care, LLC
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

My 10 yo pittie Max has arthritis in his knees. Our family vet suggested meds however his arthritis is in the early stages and I did not feel comfortable going the med route yet so I got on the internet to research some other treats options and this is when I came across coppers integrative care and Dr Cubelo. Max started receiving acupuncture treatments and he absolutely loves them (and the treats afterwards :)) I’ve noticed max is more loose when walking and it may even be helping his chronic allergies because those too have improved within the last month. Dr cubelo is a pleasure too! She’s recommended outside specialists for other aliments max has and given some sound advice for other things. Max is always excited to hen I tell him we are going to see Dr Cubelo. Thank you for the excellent care! Max man loves you

My husband and I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Cubelo! She is so wonderful with our oldest shepherd and we look forward to her in home visits! The acupuncture treatments have most definitely helped him! Dr. Cubelo is not only patient with our dog, she is patient with us....she takes the time to answer all of our questions, as well as makes dietary and care suggestions for all three of our shepherds. We highly recommend her and her services!

We are thrilled with the care Dr. Cubelo provides for our 12-year-old-dog. He always had digestive issues managed by his regular veterinarian. While we could address the symptoms for a while, he would frequently relapse. Dr. Cubelo’s demeanor impresses me, and my little guy enjoys his appointments. She is so reassuring, both to him and me during his treatment. We wish we had started with her sooner. We realize how much he wasn't feeling like himself. He's now more energetic and happy enjoying his walks – he even has his zoomies back. I would highly recommend! Services Used: Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine

Today we had to let go of our 20ish year old dog. Dr. Cubelo was just wonderful. It was the most comforting it could be in such circumstances thanks to her. Our girl passed quickly and peacefully. Dr Cubelo kept us talking about our girl in happy times and helped us move her in a way that made it look like she was just sleeping so we could take her for her final ride to be cremated. She also shaved us some fur. She made the spot in the shape of a heart over her heart and that was just extra sweet. We had as comforting and non-traumatic experience as you can have when letting go of your beloved furbaby. The love this team shows for the people and animals is unmatched. We had great communication prior to the appointment as well. Having to let go of your pet is so hard. If we have to make this choice for any of our other dogs I know where to go. 10/10 will recommend.

I’ve spent a lot of time trying to find the right words to properly express and thank Dr. Cubelo for how much she helped my tiny family on the saddest day of our life. Our sweet boy, Fang, was so full of life, so funny, and quirky. He trotted like a horse and side-eyed you like no other. He loved to dance with you and spin in circles when you’d happily go on a walk with him. We found each other when we were freshly in our twenties while also not really being prepared for a puppy so timid and silly. Nothing could have prepared us for the beautiful path we got to spend together from that little decision of adopting him. Fang showed us a world that was so bright and happy at all times. A world where he showed us how to truly love all of the things he adored most nature, animals, and even humans. All these things that he got to experience in his last breath thanks to the at home services, Cooper’s offers. On Fang’s last day, Dr. Cubelo sat with us, patiently explained every step, let us ask questions, and even cried with us while our sweet Fangy boy had to take his last breath. She shared words of her personal experience and made us feel so understood and comforted by the soul crushing decision. Dr. Cubelo coming to help us through this deeply hollowing time allowed for our little family to have a really beautiful last day with him. He was surrounded by daises and his favorite humans and even got to chase one final squirrel. He got to experience the brightness of life that he so graciously shared with us since the moment we met. Nature, animals, and even humans. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Dr. Cubelo. You really helped allow this tiny family, that became even smaller that day, to have the most beautiful last moments with our Fang. We will remember you forever for that.
