How to Save Money at The LifeCentre
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
We were referred to TLC after a couple of emergency vet visits for our senior cat, Mamacita. She wasn’t eating or drinking and was not acting like her usual self. TLC was able to take Mama in the same day we got the referral and were excellent from arrival to pick-up. The doctors and nurses took fantastic care of our little lady during her multi-day stay, and the attending doctor provided status calls each day to keep me updated on the various tests being run to figure out what was going on. Mama is now back home resting and is back to her usual self! Thanks so much to the entire staff for your kindness and expertise.

I recently had the heartbreaking experience of losing my beloved pet, and cannot express how grateful I am for the exceptional care and compassion provided by VCA Animal Emergency or aka The Life Centre. From the moment I walked through their doors, the staff here showed genuine empathy and support. They understood the depth of my sorrow and went above and beyond to ensure both my pet and I were comfortable throughout the entire process. Everyone demonstrated the highest level of professionalism explaining every step of the situation with patience and clarity, allowing me to make informed decisions. What truly stood out was the kindness and compassion they extended to my pet after his final moments. My boy Diesel was treated with utmost respect, and I felt reassured knowing he was in capable and caring hands. Beyond the medical care, the entire staff showed unwavering support to me, providing a shoulder to lean on during a difficult time. Their thoughtful gestures and willingness to listen truly made a difference. I highly recommend this location to anyone seeking compassionate and top-notch veterinary care. They turned a heartbreaking experience into one filled with comfort and support. I will be endlessly grateful for everything you did for me and my family during this challenging journey.

The LifeCentre staff in Leesburg is such an amazing group that are true professionals and very compassionate. We recently had to lay our dog to rest unexpectedly and the staff handled a late night tragedy so well. They took our dog in so respectfully and with such care. They seem to be well trained with times like these and I can’t commend them enough. This wasn’t easy for our family and they did everything right in the moment. Thank you to the night staff that handled our situation and I love that you were there the night we came in.

Top notch care when it matters most. The Life Centre has helped so many of my pets and fosters over the years, in some cases when their regular vet was unable to make any progress at all. Highly recommend. The litter of 4 cats pictured were all deathly ill with a stomach virus that was starving and dehydrating them rapidly. 3 nights at another vet only brought them closer to death. The Life Centre got their diarrhea and vomiting under control, prescribed the correct medicines and corrected the dehydration with fluids. They rebounded and were playing again within a week, and were eventually adopted out to good homes. They boys now tip the scales at 18 pounds each after nearly starving to death. ❤️

Our cat, Roger, was reluctant to go and later reluctant to leave. Personally I'm always only too happy to leave a dentist, even one I like. Especially when I've had an extraction. But they were very nice.
