How to Save Money at Banfield Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I wanted an in-room comprehensive because my kitty is afraid to be left. So when I arrived, the comprehensive was technically in room, but they brought my kitty to the back. He was gone for over an hour. I spent over 2 hours in the room waiting for the doctor. I thought this location would be better than others, but clearly I was wrong. I have 6 more months left on my contract, and after that, I will be searching for a different fact.

There are very few really nice vet techs at the Clifton, namely Nicky, who was very kind, sweet to me and my dog. The vets were also communicative and polite. I was satisfied with their services, outside of the few times they wanted to do tooth extraction with my elderly dog. Ummm no, I'm not paying you do high risk surgery so you can make Banfield $$. My biggest problem is the once my dog was put down, the cooperate offices of Banfield told me that they will continue charging me for my wellness plan. I was verbally told that I could cancel my wellness plan after my dog passed when I first signed up (which is "technically true"). BUT they omitted the part where they lock you into a full 12 months of installment in a written contract. So even my dog is dead and I paid thousands of dollars to Banfield out of pocket (outside of their discounts), I still will continue to make payments for the wellness plan. Sneaky and greedy...especially since I just paid $314 to put my dog down and to get him cremated.

This particular Banfield location is a true diamond amongst gems, largely in part due to Ariel taking such excellent care of my cat and I. Niki and Kendall are superb as well, providing a very hospitable and friendly atmosphere. All procedures were done flawlessly, to ask for any better service would be selfish on my part. Thank you Dr. Moradian for that 😌 Should you find yourself in need of veterinary assistance, you’d be doing yourself a disservice not getting it done here. Keep doing what you’re doing 🤘🏼

If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. My beloved dog got diagnosed with diabetes. He had to do at home treatment. They didn't give us any needles to inject him. He was doing treatment for a while, and he was getting worse to the point he became blind we then noticed the insulin they prescribed him was EXPIRED a year before . Once we complained they didn't care and still charged for a new correct bottle. It was too late for my poor boy he was no longer the same and was getting worse and worse each day. His body was rejecting the medication and his temperament changed. He was 13 years old but still acted as if he was a puppy. He was always active and never rejected food or people. That all changed. He use to be so happy filled with life, but his sickness got to him and made him depressed and weak. Unfortunately my poor boy went over the rainbow bridge way too soon. I strongly believed if he was prescribed the correct medication in the beginning he would still be here.

Atrocious service and corrupt business practices. They did not have the medicine our dog needed, despite discussing it with them the day before when they called to confirm our appointment. They administered far more tests than we asked for resulting in an absurdly large bill (over $500 for a routine checkup and 2 shots). They kept our dog for 6+ hours and would not allow us to be with them, despite our dog's medical condition and the stress it causes him. We thought it would be convenient to join Banfield so we could see vets all over the country without needing a new checkup each time, but this is the third Banfield we have had a horrible experience at. They overcharge, the vets refuse to see you and sometimes won't call you, they have very high wait times, and they're constantly pushing additional tests that we don't need.
