How to Save Money at Wag Veterinary
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

THE BEST vet I have ever been to in all my life!!! From the initial call to book an appointment, you will be greeted with the kindest and warmest presence that makes scheduling everything so easy and assures you will be in the best hands. She then sent over forms online to fill out beforehand to streamline the visit experience - genius! Then, you arrive and the space is immaculately clean, adorably decorated, and such a precious environment. Each exam room is just as thoughtfully-designed, AND with window light!! My kitten thoroughly enjoyed watching outside and felt right at home. All of the staff are gentle, so loving with your pets, and make everything as easy as possible. My kitten was actually purring and having a good time at the vet for the first time ever!!! We are ELATED and RELIEVED that Wag is here - it puts our minds at ease knowing that each visit will be the absolute best for your pet - and you, too!! Izzy and I are beyond grateful for y’all!!

Our dog absolutely loves coming to WAG! When we tried to find a good vet in the area, many places would not answer their phones or were unable to see us for days. I went off of the positive Google reviews and called WAG, they were able to get us in for a same day appointment! The women at reception are always so kind and accommodating. The Dr himself is wonderful. He is very intelligent and made a great connection with our dog. A few days after our appointment, he even called me directly to follow-up after asked how our dog was feeling. Very grateful to have found a friendly, reliable vet for our dog!

Dr. Behar is the best vet we have ever seen. He listens. He is compassionate (to both animals and humans). He is extremely gentle with your pet. He doesn't shame you for budget restrictions. He is great at communicating what the issue with your pet is and giving several different treatment options. Crystal, at the front desk is so friendly and welcoming! I can't recommend him or his practice strongly enough.

The entire staff were truly wonderful! I adopted Buzz from ASPCA last year in January and today was his first check-up. I was so nervous about how his appointment would go. To my relief, they were really caring and treated him like he was family. They are understanding, patient and willing to listen to concerns without judgment. When you want a family who cares about yours; Wag Veterinary is the place to go!

We met the Wag team about 3 weeks ago for the first time and, I am sure, with all of our animals, it won’t be the last time. Excellent service, great people. I almost couldn’t believe they could fit us in the day we called and saved us a trip to the emergency vet. So, yes, 5/5 stars!! Thx for setting up shop in Ivy
