How to Save Money at UrgentVet
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Great clinic. My Great Dane found a block of cheese at the park and ate the whole thing including the plastic wrapper. This was a Saturday afternoon and my normal vet clinic was closed. I called UrgentVet and headed right over. They had me checked in and in a room within minutes. My Dane is a major booger at the vet and they were very patient with him. Able to induce vomiting quickly and get the plastic out of his gut. Staff is very kind and efficient. We were in and out of there in about an hour. Almost unheard of in an animal ER. The cost was also very reasonable compared to other Emergency Vet Clinics, it was close to what I would have paid at my regular vet. The clinic was nice and clean. I hope I won’t have to go back but if I need mor urgent care I will use them again. Thanks for the great service.

Even though there was a bit of a wait because of the amount of people there, as I would have expected, the staff immediately came out and greeted us, let us know about how long it would be and came out frequently enough to keep us in the loop. I never once felt ignored for that my Kitty was not important. They provided excellent care, and made arrangements to send copies to our regular vet. I would bring any of my animals here!

I was able to make my appointment online for the same day visit. They were so great and helpful. I would rate them an 11 on a 1-10 scale. Great people and great service. I recommend them highly!

The best emergency vet I've been to in utah. I liked that immediately given a private room. In other emergency vets here people saying goodbye to pets in lobby, fighting over pricing and other animals stressing my cat out. It was nice to just have privacy right away. I was shocked in and out door in an hour on a Saturday and the price very reasonable for emergency. Kitty cat still sedated in photo but happy and infection clearing so happy went vs waiting a few days until his vet opened.

I have been to this facility twice in the last 2 1/2 months. Sadly, it was because both of my sweet old labs needed end of life care. Each time, I hoped my dog would be ok, but were not. The vets were very kind but upfront about the situations and explained all options to me. They were thorough and professional. Every member of the staff I have worked with has been great but I'd like to offer special thanks to Summer. Summer is the one person who was with me for both of my dogs' visits. Summer showed so much compassion for both Kodi and Bella and for me and my devastation. Summer also went the extra mile to help with Bella's final arrangements. I have a regular vet but they were not available either time I needed this specific care. I appreciate the availability of this facility and their staff. The prices were reasonable as well.
