How to Save Money at Highland Park Pet Hospital-Welcoming New Patients
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I completely disagree with the 1 star review on here. I too, have been to many vets and this is one of the cleanest I have encountered. The staff and vet are beyond amazing. I have never ever had the personal treatment I experience here. The vet makes me feel as if I am her only client! Takes the time to cover everything and even extra things. Yes, sometimes that might make a wait longer....because she treats everyone that way!! Which is amazing. She has taken the time to care about one of my dogs chronic ear infections. My last vet just kept throwing meds at it. So now, his ears have been great! I have been telling all my friends about this amazing vet I have found. Also, I have never ever received texts from any vet about appointments and about treatment plans, information, and just to check on how they are doing!! They actually care about my animals health and not just how many they can get in the door...and how much money they can make in the process!!! Client for life!!

I really appreciate how patient the doctors and nurse in here! A nurse help me with mandarin translation and the doctor speak slow for me too, appreciate their help! They also really nice and patient with my cat and my cat has one of her best vet day! My cat came back home without any PSTD or nerve issues. I will keep coming back for this vet hospital!

We were in search of a vet after discovering our dog had a mast cell tumor shortly before relocating. Dr. Bayliff surprised us when she called us directly to discuss our concerns and questions, and she even helped us set up the consult appointment shortly after we arrived. This eased our minds and made us feel like we found the right vet to take care of our dog. She is so kind and very knowledgeable. Our dog’s tumor is removed and we feel Dr. Bayliff did an amazing job!

Amazing experience here. I had a horrible scheduling experience with Banfield because I showed up for my puppy's spay appointment and they couldn't find the appointment that I booked 4 months prior. They were booked out for months (hence why I scheduled an appointment back in November) but I was told the vet would make an exception because of the mishap and I could never get in contact with her. I searched and searched for another veterinary hospital that would exceed my expectations and I finally found Highland Park Pet Hospital. They were able to get my puppy a wellness exam days after I first called and spay my puppy the following week. They are beyond professional, gentle, and kind. My dog gets excited to see all the staff members, they load her up with treats, pets, and cuddles. I feel very comfortable leaving my fur baby in their care.

I have been to plenty of vets. This office is very dirty. From the chairs in the waiting room to the chairs in the exam room. Overall this place can use good cleaning. Front desk and techs are not helpful or friendly. Always running late. And no pet relief area. The actual vet is nice but overall skip this place
