I came to SLPH after a bad experience with a previous Veterinary facility. All the Dr.’s at SLPH are very compassionate and caring. When one of my girls developed an abdominal mass and I had to decide to try surgery or put her to sleep, I was almost inconsolable, but Dr Hendrix was patient and compassionate during my meltdown. He supported my decision to try surgery and was very communicative through the whole process. It gave my little girl 4 more months of a happy life. When she got sick again and I brought her back in Dr Bailey examined her and said the mass was back and felt my little girl had reach her limit of life. Being absolutely inconsolable, Dr Bailey was worried about me and insisted on calling my daughter for emotional support. She was patient and compassionate. Because I was emotionally unable to see life leave my little girls body, Dr Bailey gave me the option to just sedate her and allow me time to grieve with her before taking her to the back. These Dr.’s made my last 4 months of memories with my little girl happy and peaceful. *Bonus: The front staff is always friendly and courteous!

SLPH has been my vet of choice for many years. So long in fact that several pets have passed on after living a long and healthy life and my two current dogs go here. Dr. Hendrix patiently answers my many questions. I feel that he and the staff really care about the animals. They go above and beyond each and every time.

Could not ask for better care. Have been using Dr Doug since he graduated from Texas A&M. Although my husband ( U of Texas) used to have an issue with Doug😂 Love Doug, Jacky, Karen and all the staff.

Dr. Hendrix gave me an adorable price on a surgery for my dog that was absolutely necessary. He explained everything to me. The staff was great too!!!

Seriously, I cannot rate Dr Doug Hendrix & the entire team enough! Every evaluation, every treatment, every 6 week nail trim & gland expression is a positive experience.
