How to Save Money at Cole Veterinary Hospital at Legends Ranch
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
We have trusted my fur baby, Simon, to Cole Veterinary Hospital for years. Whether it be routine shots, teeth cleaning or an unexpected issue, they are always there and ready to help. I’ve some people mention that their costs may be slightly higher than other options but I think they are fair and appropriate for the level of care, expertise and equipment available. Every employee seems to truly care and goes above and beyond to make pets and parents feel comfortable and loved. Highly recommend!

This vet is only in it for the money, not the well-being of your pet. We spent thousands and thousands of dollars on a dental surgery for my dog that they were not qualified to do (a specialist I saw later on looked at the surgery pictures and was shocked by what they did). Cole vet put our dog on 8 different prescriptions at one time as an attempt to treat an “unknown” infection. As the specialist told me, she was on all of the wrong antibiotics. Cole vet just threw medicine against the wall hoping something would stick. They had me convinced my dog wasn’t going to make it. I almost put her down and they agreed that I should. Luckily the specialist I saw saved her life. And remember, I had to ask for a specialist, they never suggested going to one. Stupidly, I went back to Cole vet when a lump appeared on my dog’s leg. Once again, endless tests and money and Cole vet failed my dog again. Initially they said it was an “aggressive cancer”. After test results came back, they said it was an unknown fungal infection and didn’t know what to use to treat it. I never heard from them again. No follow up, no check up, nothing. I was a loyal customer for years, but things have gotten so bad at this business. For your pets sake, choose a different vet.

I love Dr Peyton Farmer.🥰. She’s very caring and knowledgeable. I felt very much in control of what was happening to my dog. Dr was not pushy. She laid out everything that was wrong with my dog and explained it. How she could help her and saved me money. My dog was not afraid and you could tell she liked the Dr and her nurse. I think you will be very assured when you leave with your animal, that they have been well taken care. Thank you Dr Farmer

I visited this office for the first time two days ago and I could not have been more pleased. The staff and facilities at Cole Veterinary Hospital are second to none. Dr. Chapman and his team were extremely attentive and thorough while examining my dog. They performed specific on-site testing to determine what was going on with my boy’s eye and it seems like they nailed it. After just one drop of the medicine Dr. Chapman prescribed, my dog’s eye began to look better and he’s not acting as if it’s causing him pain anymore. The thing I was most impressed with though was the strong sense of empathy and love for a dog they had just met. Their dedication to the welfare and wellbeing of their patients really shines through. My dog is a 60 Lb male pit bull and he’s even stronger than that makes him sound. The techs were so good with him that they even managed to get him to sit through having his nails trimmed (something he usually hates). To cap everything off, the waiting room and exam room were both very clean and comfortable. The vibe in the office and the space itself helped my dog and me to be at ease and ensure that the whole experience was very pleasant. I can’t recommend this office highly enough. I’ll be bringing in my other two dogs very soon for their annual checkups.

The people there were so nice and so informative. They treated my boy with so much care, and he really trusted them when they handled him. The people there had such great personality and the environment was very welcoming for me and my overweight kitty. They gave me great advice, and I’ll definitely be coming back for our next annual visit. (:
