How to Save Money at Night Watch Elite Animal Emergency

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

We brought our cat here for a urinary blockage that he had a month prior so we knew the symptoms. When we arrived, I saw the sign that read to stay in our car and call for them to pick up our pet. Although we waited in our car, Ryan came out multiple times and never left us wondering what was happening. Dr Manning called and explained everything that was wrong, and was extremely friendly and professional. Ryan came back out and showed us an estimate of the price, and helped to reduce that price by taking off certain procedures we didn’t need. It was definitely pricey but it is an emergency vet and they were very thorough. The only downside in my opinion is that the office closed at 8 AM and we would’ve had to come pick up our cat and transfer him. Ryan referred us to Thrive and our baby was seen right away. He saved us thousands of dollars and obviously your pet is the priority over the money they could make. I would always recommend and would trust them with any of our babies again (but hopefully won’t have to!)

They quite literally saved my cats life. They were very kind and considerate. They were also very honest with their evaluation of my cat. They made sure she was comfortable. They even kept her over a day and were able to send me videos of how she was progressing. I HIGHLY recommend them! They even let me visit my cat before surgery. I got about 3 to 4 calls a day regarding my cat and her progress. It was a dire situation and they literally saved her life. They made me feel comfortable leaving her there over multiple nights and I had confidence that they were trying everything they could. They are expensive but they did what needed to be done. I don’t feel like anything was done, simply for the money I feel like it was done to help my cat and nothing more. There was never any ill intent. Nothing felt like a was extremely genuine, kind, and understanding.

I can't say enough good things about the clinic that helped my cat late at night. When we faced an emergency, they were incredibly compassionate and attentive, providing top-notch care even at such a late hour. What truly impressed me was their willingness to work with us on the bill, showing genuine understanding of our financial situation. Ryan, Alex, and the rest of their amazing staff made a stressful time so much easier, and I’m so grateful for their support. Highly recommend Night Watch Animal Emergency for their excellent service and kindness!

I was really worried in the middle of the night after my Dutchess Boston terrier started breathing weird and acting lethargic. We had seen her vet on Thursday for vomiting on Wednesday, diarrhea and weird circle and red hives all over her coat. And they on Friday we saw another vet because she refused to eat or drink. And we were worried so we had some blood work done. Now, During a moment of distress and anxiety, The vet here was divine and a blessings as they he carefully took care of my baby. They truly cared about my girl and were very comprehensive and efficient in diagnosing and caring for her. Doc. took time to explain everything andl carefully explained care instructions to my husband and I. They went over all her tests, bloodwork, their results and what they indicate. Doc was knowledgeable with liver enzymes and kidney and protein well basically he has knowledge of the dogs anatomy and how it's supposed to function. So I felt confident in his ability to treat her! We felt incredibly taken care of by all the wonderful, cheerful staff. I am so grateful I decided to come here. Yes I must be truly honest in my review they are pricey but they are honest and they give you the option to think it through before you make a choice on which direction you want to take and they don't pressure you. We did not encounter any rudeness from them. We took the cheaper option because we just can't afford to keep her overnight. But we did ask if we had to come back in the middle of the night if there would you know be a difference into the second price. And we would just pay the difference. Which is good because there's not an extra fee. I am glad we did take the first option because she is doing much better I stayed up with her all night. And she did eat I didn't have to pressure her tonight. So I'm very happy about that. I am exhausted from no sleep but it is worth it because I love my baby! I am very grateful to Knight watch elites I am very grateful for Elite Watch Animal hospital doctor and staff! I just wish they could do a little bit better in pricing. Perhaps I could ask to they could work with us I just wasn't thinking straight as well.

This place is amazing!!! They saved our sweet puppy Bella last night. Our puppy found some human medicine that was accidentally dropped on the floor. Soon after she was lethargic with a racing pulse. We freaked out and took her in right away. The care and love she received was exceptional. The staff was kind to us and made us feel reassured that our baby was in good hands. This morning we picked up a playful and happy puppy again. I am beyond grateful for Night Watch.
