How to Save Money at Stonebridge Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

We have trusted Stonebridge Vetinerary for the care of our dogs for over fifteen years. They have provided our dogs with excellent care and end of life comfort and compassion for our beloved mixed terrier in 2015. They are very affectionate and effective with our lab. He is always happy to go to his appointments. I don’t hesitate to recommend them.

Stonebridge Vet Hospital is a friendly place whose staff love the pets and care for them as if they are their own. My "Maggie Mae" loves to go to the "Beauty Shop". When she hears those words, she rushes toward the door! And, in times of "difficult" decisions, they are there to the very end and beyond. We love this place!

Our dog was needing to be seen for a bleeding growth on his eyelid over the recent holiday weekend. I called Stonebridge and the receptionist was extremely compassionate and helpful. She was able to schedule a new patient visit for us. We were able to schedule surgery for the day after our first visit. We were in at 7:30 a.m. and out at 4:15 p.m. I am so thankful for each staff member. Everyone was extremely friendly, calm , and caring. The office staff was very organized. The office was very clean, and Dr Viator did a wonderful job on the eye surgery. I would highly recommend Stonebridge Vet Hospital.

Loved this place and our doctor when we were able to see and get in! I have a Bird that injured his wing, I knew it was broken. I knew my bird needed medical attention because I spoke to online doctors before calling due to it being difficult to find a veterinarian who sees “exotic” animals. And it was a Saturday. I already called a few places before but considering this was a “exotic” type of animal it was really difficult to find a place open with a opening, but from what I was told by other online doctors a broken wing is urgent. Even if I couldn’t see a exotic animal doctor we still should see a “doctor” to just be treated for a break for pain for my bird. As any animal with a break someone could give pain meds, etc. so with that information I started to search. After gathering this information, on a Saturday I knew a “exotic” veterinarian would not be there for a clinic day so I decided to write a email to stonebridge and explain what has happened to my bird and if she could kindly forward it to the exotic veterinary for advice until we could be seen. I was sent back a email with the price of the visit and I need to call. Well when I called I was offered the following Friday for my bird. After I argued a little and questioned the timing for 5 days on a knowing break of a wing. I asked well isn’t there anything sooner. It’s definitely broken and I am being told to be seen asap! Whoever I was speaking to then told me there is “other” vets in Dallas that could see my “exotic” animal sooner. And she could give me the places. -As to this veterinary being in my town I did not want to go to Dallas. Then I asked well if she thought I was ok being seen that long for a break then I guess it’s ok. And she was surprised I wanted the appointment time. Almost like she just was trying to get me off the phone. The appointment turned from a Friday into a Tuesday after that. When Tuesday did come our doctor at this clinic was beyond amazing and so happy I suck to them! When I told the doctor what happened. she did state that broken wings are URGENT and need to be seen right away! Luckily my bird was in great hands and he is feeling alot better now. But I did question why on our 1st call and email. When I called on Saturday at 3pm when they are open from 3-5pm on Saturdays. Idk 🤷🏻♀️ I’m happy with the doctor I did see and the staff I interacted with but as a 1st time caller with a BIG injury for my little bird I was sad to be treated the way I was on the 1st phone call. This is why I gave a 3 Because if I wasn’t persistent about being seen I was referred out. I could have been seen and given medication or something. Idk I know every office is different. I when sent email with pictures of the break and everything almost like I was another client with no care of the animal. Which to me seems weird for a veterinary but yet this was one person out of a whole office so I thought I would share! My bird is 8 weeks of recovering.

Turned away for no walk-ins after we called 2 hours before showing up to clinic. No notice that clinic was closing early. All we needed was to speak to a vet to make an informed decision about a beloved member of our family do not recommend this vet ever again.
