How to Save Money at ABC Veterinary Clinic of Lewisville
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

My very best friend in life, my one and only experience in unconditional love; gone entirely too soon, but at least they were able to ease her pain. I’m far from a doctor, and no matter how much of my heart just wanted her to be better (even if that meant she was no more in this physical world) I would have liked to have had a more straight to the point, clear cut answer from the very beginning of the visit. Any hope of understanding something such as euthanasia if you’ve never experienced what it’s like, was beyond my level of comprehension. I know that when she lifted her head for the first time the entire time we were there, after the medication had begun to be administered, I was was confused, and asked what was happening. The doctor said she was feeling it, then she laid her head down and that was it. I was literally unsure what to think, how to feel…. The doctor finally told me that I had made the right decision. THAT! is what I needed to know from the beginning, but am so grateful to have gotten it at all. I don’t believe in cremation. It’s a personal choice for me, and I felt like the blue heavy plastic trash bag full of air and my baby, cinched with a zip tie at the top….. I didn’t care for that in the least.

Vet was always extremely weird whenever I would come in . Yesterday he reached my nerves limit, just plain rude and unprofessional !!! . He always looks at me like I’m crazy perhaps he treats people with an accent little different than Americans although he have accent himself , as if he is paying me hundred and hundreds of dollars! Waiting room was extremely hot . I waited little over an hour , while other people were just in and out . He made so much money of me in the past 10 months , he could be little nicer to people who feed him . Staff was always nice and I want to say huge thank you to all the stuff but he is money hungry jerk ! Will be changing the vet ! Bye bye now ! I really don’t know what personal comments you referring to that I forgot to mention ?Enlighten me please ! I was always nice to everyone there , never said anything wrong to anyone . I did not refuse any treatment!!!! He said test will take 10 min which turned to 25 min , there is no way temp in that room was 67 f . LOL. But ok … I was just waiting for the test to be done ! I don’t appreciate how Vet kept telling me I will kill my pet . He is just plain rude and kept raising his voice at me !

Words cannot express my upmost gratitude for ABC Vet Clinic of Lewisville. My 8th month old puppy suffered a major intestinal obstruction which required emergency surgery. Needless to say, my boy almost didn’t make it. However, the team was quick to diagnose the situation and Max was back to being his normal self the next morning. Whether you need a welcoming place for primary veterinary care, or emergency care, ABC Vet Clinic of Lewisville is hands down the place to go. Thanks, ABC Vet Clinic of Lewisville, for your professionalism and willingness to do whatever it takes for our animals that fill our lives with so much joy!

Finally found a new vet much better than the jerk at ABC vet who told me I couldn’t go through chewys because it’s the blackmarket and wouldn’t give me a prescription. Because I needed the triheart and other pills I went ahead and paid knowing I would never be back because of the terrible treatment by the jerk of a vet who seems like he’s scared of big dogs. Love the new spot no one should ever go here they will overcharge and the vet who was an Indian man should find a new job and learn how to talk to people.

My little dog Buster recently had extensive dental work with Doctor Bathina. ABC Veterinary Clinic took excellent care of my dog. He has a heart condition and still did extremely well because the doctor and staff are so caring and efficient. There prices are also reasonable. My 17 year old dog is doing well thanks to their care and teamwork.
