How to Save Money at Emancipet

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Emancipet is a great organization and resource for pet owners. As a senior on a fixed income, for tha past four years. They’ve enabled me to keep my pets up to date on vaccines, be spayed/neutered without the costs bankrupting me. I’ve been alerted to conditions that I could prepare for. Everyone there is friendly, professional and helpful. Every visit I include a donation, why ,they deserve it and more. Thanks from the Scott Family Tyrion. Indigo. And Bear

Showed up at 10 am and didn't get out until roughly 12. Albeit being a lengthy wait, it is due to them being walk in only and low cost. The team is well oiled and works as quickly as they can to get people in and out. They're friendly and happy to show love to your furbabies. I left with 2 happy dogs and paid a price less than half of what I would've paid at a full scale veterinary clinic.

Emancipet pet clinic has exceeded my expectations in every way possible. From the moment I step through their doors, I am greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable staff who truly care about the well-being of my pet, Lucas. The vet technicians are not only skilled professionals but also shower every pet with love and affection, creating a warm and welcoming environment. I am so grateful for the affordable prices and quality care that Emancipet provides. As a token of my appreciation, I always make sure to leave a generous donation. I believe it's crucial for everyone to contribute in whatever way they can because without our support, we would be left with the burden of paying exorbitant veterinary prices elsewhere. Emancipet's dedication to making veterinary care accessible and affordable is truly remarkable. I wholeheartedly recommend Emancipet to every pet owner out there. The exceptional service, compassionate staff, and affordable prices make it a standout clinic. Whether it's routine check-ups, vaccinations, or more serious medical issues, Emancipet is the place to go. Let's all join hands and support this incredible organization so that they can continue their noble mission of providing top-notch care to pets and ensuring that no owner has to compromise their pet's health due to financial constraints. Together, we can make a difference!

The staff was very quick and efficient, I arrived at 9:30 just to be early and there was already a huge line. People were advised to wait in their cars until opening, so it dosent really matter if you get there an hour early or so, you won't be seen until opening. Also a huge advice, don't have your pets in line with you for check in (especially with how hot it is), you are just giving your information and number and waiting the amount of time until they text you theyre ready. I waited in line for about an hour then left once giving my info, it was a 4/5 hour wait, came back with my dogs after i was messaged and was seen quickly once I arrived. The staff was super friendly and I was confortable with the environment they had in the building. Thank you emancipet! Edit: It's been about a year since I've last been here and came to get my dog his updated vaccines as well as everything a brand new kitten needs. I arrived about 9:55 (without my animals since this is a check in) they took my info and i went home, about a 2 to 3 hr wait and came back with my animals once they messaged me that they were ready to see me. Again the staff was friendly and quick(love u guys for being so patient and understanding) the nurses got the medical information of the animals before taking them in for what they need. I do want to add though that the waiting room is a bit small so your animals will be face to face with others. Thank you all staff for all your hard work, I'm glad to be able to get my babies the shots they need to continue to be healthy and happy. For those looking for military discounts this is a non profit clinic so they do not provide military discounts.

I've had 3 pets spayed or neutered here. They are really good with pets and pricing. U fortunately, because they are so cheap, it usually takes a while to get an appointment. However, if you ask to be put on the call back list, they can get you in if there's no shows or cancelations. Overall it's a great place to have your pets taken care of
