How to Save Money at Heights Veterinarian - Urban Animal Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I was a client of this clinic for more than 5 years, I had my 4 pets with them, previously they had a super nice and friendly receptionist. A week ago I had an appointment for my dog and this lady that you see in the photo did not want to make the appointment because we were 15 minutes late, she is very rude and does not know how to treat clients, the clinic itself has prices above average , but my wife and I decided to pay the over price for the customer service they previously provided, but with the bad experience we had with the lady in the pic we will never return to that clinic! 👎👎

We recently brought our fur baby to this veterinary clinic, and our experience was great! Dr. Granson took ample time to meticulously examine our pet, ensuring no health issue went unnoticed. We particularly appreciated the patience and kindness she demonstrated throughout the entire consultation. The receptionist at the front desk was warm and friend. The pleasant ambiance created by the staff made our visit comforting. Additionally, scheduling appointments was a breeze, with a plethora of convenient options available to suit our hectic timetable. We were also particularly impressed by the clinic’s follow-up system. The vet kept us informed and efficiently ensured that all our concerns and informed us about their suggested wellness plan.

They changed their staff, we have 1 cat and 3 dogs. We always visited this overrated veterinarian because we trusted and believed in their service, but it turns out that I took a day off to take one of my pets to the appointment and because of the traffic, I arrived 15 minutes late and the new employee at the desk told me that that's why they couldn't help me...because I'm 15 min late.... They lost me, we will never return

When I say that Urban Animal Vet truly cares about your pets, it's an understatement. The entire staff takes a genuine interest in the health of your pet and I never felt like I was rushed through an appointment. There are less expensive options in the area, but Urban Animal is an incredibly trustworthy hospital. I once needed to take my dog to an ER and within hours Urban Animal called to check on her. I recently moved and will miss the care they took with my lab, Sally. Thanks for all your hard work.

I’ve never left a Google review, but I had to after our experience today. We have a very anxious, very timid Boxer mix. Everyone at Urban Animal Hospital was so kind to her and made her feel comfortable. Dr. Hillary and the nurse were amazing! We normally go to Banfield and I’ve never seen Deandra take to the vet staff the way she did today. Also, The staff at Banfield have never been so patient and gentle with Dee. Our first visit, but we will be switching to Urban for all veterinary needs for our girls ❤️
