How to Save Money at BluePearl Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Blue Pearl saved my dog's life, Hussle came in with a lot of severe symptoms. They quickly took him to the back and within an hour gave me an expected diagnosis, we ran the tests and he was confirmed to have Addison's disease within 24 hours. Prior to arriving, we had taken him to 2 different vets that diagnosed something different and I am glad we got him to the right team in the end. I got him to them just in time, after a few terrifying days of my dog's heart possibly stopping a few times and a seizure later he was discharged and sent home to get treated for his Addison's with his normal vet for the rest of his life. I am so grateful for this team, they diagnosed quickly, gave me all the information on his condition, and saved him from his Addisonian crisis, and throughout all of this, the team updated me with pictures and details on status checks upon request and they all seemed so kind. My dog has always been afraid of anything that moves but even in his worst condition he seemed to be comfortable, everyone showed him some love and they helped me feel more comfortable as well. I can't imagine being without Hussle, he is only 6 years old, but thanks to this team, I don't have to imagine quite yet. We will have a happy and healthy life thanks to their knowledge. They saved my best friend and they will never know what that means to me. I will say this place is as expensive as a trip to heaven from hell but they made it worth it and made sure I was able to get my money's worth and visited him 3x a day.

During a very difficult and scary time regarding my pet and having to make a late night visit. I was very greatful for the compassion, caring and friendly service all the staff had. Our vet was very knowledgeable and honest in discussing all options regarding my dog. It's not something you hope for a repeat visit but if I ever need to take my pet to emergency care I will be going to this facility. I appreciate everyone who helped me that night, even when my brain wasn't functioning properly.

Dr. Manion was wonderful. She thoroughly explained the treatment options available for my dog and identified a few issues not previously mentioned by my previous vets. My dog has complex health issues, and I left her office feeling that she would do her best to find relief for my senior dog. She was kind and thoughtful, and her office staff was very welcoming.

we were scheduled for echocardiography for $900. i was unable to interact with anyone but the lowest level employees who transported my dog. i specifically asked to speak with the echocardiographer but was denied the opportunity. This is unacceptable customer service. would have taken 30 seconds, maybe 15, to pop out & say hi, introduce oneself & discuss their credentials. As it is I’m left wondering who did the test, if they were qualified & even if they did the requested/paid testing as no work products were offered. i will say the front office staff were nice & the facility was clean & smelled good. i suspect this is a high quality facility & minor changes will do a lot for their reputation. Please look at my other reviews, which are objective. FYI Paco is doing better!

We arrived late last Saturday evening suspecting our dog had bloat. As soon as we walked in the door, they immediately took him back for triage/ X-rays. They confirmed it was in fact bloat and began planning for surgery. The vet techs are absolutely incredible. Our family was shocked by how caring and compassionate the staff was throughout this process. Dr. Ying walked us through every step of the procedure and recovery giving us complete confidence in his abilities. Before surgery began, we went back to see our pup and found a vet tech sitting on the floor with him comforting him. We received text messages from the vet tech throughout the procedure keeping us updated on progress. After the procedure we were texted a picture of him laying down resting on top of several fluffy blankets. The morning after procedure we went for a visit and the staff brought a big comforter into the room for him to rest on and gave us a remote to call for them when we were ready. Since he’s come back home we have had to call twice with questions about post op care. Both times the vet has called us back right away and thoroughly answered our questions. Most importantly, the procedure was an absolute success and our pup is recovering perfectly. We’ve been to several late night/ ER vets, and have simply never found this level of care elsewhere.
