How to Save Money at Phillips Creek Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

We have had an excellent experience every time we have come! The staff are all compassionate and very thorough. Our 3 cats are so precious to us and everyone we encounter here put both us and our cats at ease! One of our cats is very anxious and coming to the vet is a huge deal for both her and us. Dr. hull and his staff were compassionate enough to work with us so that our cat (and us) are able to have a calm visit and that means so much to me and my husband! Very highly recommend Dr Hull and the whole vet hospital staff!

I recently had to bring my 8 year old cat Sheldon in for blood in his urine. I called ahead and was able to work with Joanie, who helped me through the financials before hand so that there were no surprises as we had just got done with a move to the area. The visit ended up having to be a drop off situation, but the staff kept us updated and he wasn’t even scared when he came back home (which is very unusual for a cat, if you know, you know!) I was very satisfied with the care of Sheldon, and also the helpfulness of the staff with his human parents. I will continue to bring my animals here and I can’t say how glad I am that the transition to a new vet was so seamless!

Been with Phillips Creek for almost 10 years since Jessie was a puppy. Dr. Lopez and his staff are fantastic. They always take great care of Jessie's needs.

Had the BEST experience here! I brought my three fury kids (1 lab + 2 great danes) in all at the same time and they were extremely accommodating. Dr. Lopez and his team were thorough, patient, caring and all around fantastic. It can be very chaotic and stressful to take three large dogs in at one time for their annual check-ups but they made it a breeze. I could not have asked for a better experience!

As a former employee of 4.5 years, I write this review with all honesty. Phillips Creek was the best clinic I’ve worked at. The compassion from the front end, technicians and doctors is well above standard care. The part that our clients don’t usually see is when we cry, even with doctors, when our clients have to say goodbye to their best friend. We take that pain with us too. The realization is that we are all fallible and no one is perfect. Things don’t always turn out the way we had hoped. We get bit, scratched, deficated, urinated on and we still love your babies as if they were our own. We do our best to get all pets in, sometimes it’s not possible, sometimes an emergency hospital is what is in the best interest of your pet, not because we couldn’t get you in. Please take into consideration that there are always more sides to a story than just the one that leaves a bad review. I trust the Phillips Creek team with my fur babies because I personally know they will always do what is best for my pets!
