How to Save Money at Fairfield Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
My 2 year old pug had surgery to remove a foreign object and the technician, Jennifer kept me posted throughout the entire process because she knew I was very worried. She sent me a picture of my little girl and made her feel more comfortable and loved. Dr. Harris and Dr. Hicks made me feel extremely at peace before and after surgery. They truly take care of the animals as if it were their own. What an amazing experience!

I been here multiple times and everyone has been so amazing. Doctor was able to treat my kitty’s paws infection, the techs are so friendly. The one star review is to bring the attention to the customer service at the front desk as the receptionist is the first person the client meet at the clinic. There was two ladies at the desk. Not the skinny one as she was respectful and nice, but the other older lady it was her second time showing attitude! First time was 6 months ago when I took my kitty there because he was constipated and had some baby poop sticking his back and this lady showed a bad facial expression like this is is gross or what! And today I got in to the clinic while holding my kitty in my arm because he doesn’t like to be in carrier box while in car and it was rainy outside also so I just brought him in, wondering if they can hold him for me so I can go grab his carrier box quickly, but this lady without saying hi or welcoming me just said: “ ooooommmmmmgggooooshshssh put a leash on him! I told them if they can hold him so I go bring the carrier box quickly and the other old and skinny lady( because I don’t know the name) was ok with it , but this lady said NO! And told me just to leave him in the room and close the door. I understand we can’t just bring the pets without box or leash but I literally explained them what’s happening , and this lady just showed attitude and didn’t even say hi or no smile . Whoever in charge of it needs to correct her. I pay every time I come here and I demand respect! I was going to set an appointment to nurture my kitty, but I won’t come back! I rather go somewhere which respects clients.update after couple months: they did not reply to my review! Means the owner does NOT value costumer service meaning they only care about money! Won’t come back!!!! Please please don’t come here if you value yourself!!!!!

Can't recommend this facility enough. The quality of care, both treatment and end of life, is outstanding. And, they always try to work within your means. My daughter lost a dear pet and I could not think of a better place to assist with that transition. The pet was sick, and the Dr even sat down and tried to explain what was wrong and what we could do. Highly recommend, and kudos to Dr. Jordan who helped us.

Love taking our pet here. They offer so many services here and if they can't do it, they can refer you to someone who can. The doctor are so nice and understanding. The tech are very informative and always give clear instructions.
