How to Save Money at Haslet Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google

I absolutely had to write a review about this Veterinary Clinic; they are wonderful. The staff is very knowledgeable and super friendly. We moved and we needed to get a medication refill for our dog. Every other vet clinic would have told us we needed an appointment, and that we had to see one of the vets. But not here, we were able to do a weight check and pick the medication up at the same time. Their price was similar to Costco’s and they actually had it in stock. We are so happy we found this place and we know we will have a long, fruitful relationship. Great team of people taking special care of our beloved animal family members.

Been taking our two cats and two dogs to this place and they are awesome. Friendly staff that takes good care of our babies. most importantly their prices are fair unlike some other vets that run their business like used car dealerships.

Dr. Crabill and his team are top notch! We recently moved our two pups over to his care and are so glad we did. The entire team is so personable. The Dr. double checked for any concerns and answered questions thoroughly. Our dogs were at such ease. So thankful for them and the care that they have provided. If you are looking for a vet, look no further. I highly recommend! Picture of our two cuties included…☺️

We unfortunately had to make the tough decision to lay our 12 year old Golden Retriever to rest. I cannot say enough amazing things about the entire staff. From the amazing ladies at the front desk who knew when we walked in what we were getting ready to have to do, then Tyler, one of the techs was the first to visit us in our room. He was so kind, patience, loved all over our pup. Answered all questions we had. Then Dr. Boeving came in to visit. She literally set down on the floor with our pup and and just loved all over him. We talked things over for a bit. Again, she had so much patience with us. Never at anytime during our visit did we feel rushed. They all just kept telling us to take our time. Finally the decision was made to place our pup to sleep. So we went into another room. Again, nothing but 100% professionalism from everyone. Explaining what was going to happen. Again, giving us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes. Then Tyler and Dr. Boeving came in, got down on the floor with us and our pup. Explained to us what to expect. Then moved forward. Never a flinch, he went right to sleep. Of course we are crying like babies, and they told us to spend as much time as we needed. I cannot express how much this all meant to my wife and I. There is no doubt who we will be seeing in the future for any needs that arise for our other animals. Thank you Haslet Vet Clinic. You all are a God send.
