How to Save Money at Syler Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

We've taken our dog Skittles here for several years. Every single time we take her here, she is beyond happy to see all of the lovely people who care for her at this veterinarian's office. I wouldn't entrust her to anyplace else.

This was the first time to visit Syler Vet Clinic. We arrived and we had to push and our Pyrenees would not get off the floor. The staff helped us get him through the lobby and into the exam room. We got into the room and one of the techs squirted some cheese on the floor and threw a couple cookies down and got on the floor with him. They started the exam on the floor until he was comfortable until Dr Syler came in. She was just as pleasant. We have never had a more comfortable experience at a vet. Our Pyrenees was a stray and were getting a complete exam and shots. Unfortunately for the 1 year old has heart worm. Dr Syler explained everything in detail and set us at ease as to how we are going to treat it. I would recommend this Veterinarian highly. She got her degree from A&M and treated us well even though I had a Longhorn cap on. THANK YOU DR SYLER. You are the best.

Syler’s is always so sweet and friendly to my babies, and make them (and me) as comfortable as possible. I know they are busy, but I always leave feeling like my pets are valued and not just one of the hundreds they see each day! No matter WHO I see, I always get amazing service and they answer all my questions in a way that I can understand. They go above and beyond for my pets.

I have loved the Syler Veterinary Clinic from my first visit, but I absolutely think the world of them since my last visit. I brought my darling Gogeous here for 8 years and she received the best care I could ask for. When the time came to let my sweet baby go, Dr. Syler and her staff were so compassionate. They even took care of my baby for a little while so that I could sit with her a little longer and say my goodbyes uninterrupted.

All the staff were wonderful!! We took our 5 year old Guinea pig to Dr. Styler and she was very honest with us upfront! She did a full exam on him but told us she’s no expert in Guinea pigs. In her professional opinion, she felt confident that the lump under Squeakers chin was from an abscessed or infected tooth. She told us she could sedate him, lance it open and drain it but if the tooth ended up needing to be extracted once she got in there, that was outside of her wheelhouse. We opted to wait and take him to a specialist so everything can be done all at once if it’s needed and she 100% supported that choice! She started him on antibiotics for us and just charged us for the basic exotic pet visit. My husband and I were both impressed that she didn’t try to convince us to let her to the procedure and instead agreed with us that we should take him to a specialist. Her integrity and honesty gained us as customers for the future!!!
