How to Save Money at Noah's Ark Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

My cat was dying the other day, and they couldn't see him till 5PM. It was 9 AM when I called. I took him somewhere else, and he died on the way there. But in the past they have been really good to me and my cats

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had in my life. Dr. Pearson did not even greet my dog or me. I don't care that he didn't greet me but you don't have to have a degree to know that you greet a dog you've never met. My dog panicked when Pearson (should not even be called a doctor) grabbed my dog under her backside. My dog panicking was Rightfully so.. He tackled my dog acting like my dog reacted wrongly but it was Pearson being aggressive and getting my dog upset. My dog has never acted like that and is constantly around 7 kids. Pearson should be banned. The only good reviews he has is for birds. He traumatized my dog. My dog has never acted like that. Any human knows to greet a dog. Give her a treat. Pet her. Gain her trust before you grab under her back legs..

Not sure why I am seeing so many negative reviews because we have had nothing but great experiences here with our dogs. We have tried several vets in town and this one has shown the most compassion, been the most reasonable financially, and has been the most gentle with our babies. The first time I came in was because I lived a couple of blocks away and found my mini aussie with a huge eye swollen shut in the yard. Noah's ark was the closest vet so I took her there and the staff was very kind, reassuring me that everything was going to be ok. The vet prescribed a steroid if I remember correctly and told me to give her allergy medicine and she was back to normal within the next couple of hours. After this experience we decided to bring our 1 yr old German Shepherd puppy in after taking him to two different vets who could not figure out why he was yelping every time he jumped in the air or played rough. Noah's ark looked at him for about 30 seconds (while being much more gentle than the other two vets I might add) and discovered that one of his testicles was trapped and when he jumped it was pulling and hurting him. Amazing, the other two clinics said it was probably the beginnings of hip dysplasia or a back problem in his lower back. They did surgery and he is now totally fine. Over the years and along with the treatments already described, Noah's ark has treated our babies for ear infections, Ehrlichia, and allergies and has given them all of their shots. My in-laws also bring all of their pitbulls here and have had nothing but great experiences. They even had their 15 yr old family dog put down here after developing cancer and Noah's ark was gentle and kind to the very end for Halo. I highly recommend Noah's Ark. We have two happy and healthy dogs thanks to them.

Our African Sulcata tortoise needed some beak trimming. Dr. Pearson and staff did a wonderful job on our 75 lb. guy!! We are so happy to have found a place to care for him!

My husband and I are moving across the country with our bunny, Leopold. The car ride is understandably stressful for our holland lop, and he started to refuse food and water. Knowing that critical care formula has worked for him in the past, we called dozens of vet offices in the search for it. Finally, Noah’s Ark Pet Hospital came to the rescue. We were about 2 hours away from Amarillo and they immediately worked us into their schedule (perfectly) for when we arrived in town. Everyone from the receptionist, to vet tech, to the veterinarian himself were AMAZING. Everyone was SO nice and reassuring. Leopold received some fluids and we were sent on our way with our formula. He is back to his normal energetic self! If you live in Amarillo, or find yourself passing through with a pet in need, this is your place for excellent care.
