How to Save Money at ReadiVet Nashville, Mobile Vet Services

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Love, love, love this place and every person I've met here. I have two cats that are sensitive in two different ways and they're great with them both. The doctors and techs are SO attentive and caring, and have helped me make great decisions for my girls. I'm so happy I found them!! We were at our previous vet for 5 years until their Dr moved, they still hated going there. Our last appt with ReadiVet, the Dr was causally holding my screamer with no complaints from her. I still laugh when I think about it. That's a first! My other girl is very timid, but everyone still picks up on what she's expressing. My girls are perfectly happy to tolerate everyone in this crew, nothing makes me feel better about their care than that! ❤️

Dr.Hynek gosh she is the absolute best I can’t say enough good things about her. She was able to help me get my boys Cushings disease under control and his weight. She gave me more time with him. Unfortunately I did lose him but she made herself available to take my calls and answer all my questions regarding him and everything we had happen. I have 3 other babies who will only see her. She is so caring and passionate about what she does. She is the absolute best and I couldn’t ask for a better vet to see my fur babies.

I am at a loss for words to express how grateful I am to not only Readi-Vet as a company, but to their people. They have been Phenomenal with all of my pet needs over the last year or year and a half that I found them. They are always available whenever I text needing more medicine or a service. We had an elderly Great Dane that Readi-Vet Has helped us with for over a year. Every single time I have reached out to them, they have promptly responded, whether it was a medication need or help determining whether it was time to put him down. Today was the day. Dr. Matthews and her assistant Abby came. They showed up promptly, and Were more than accommodating. They explained the process again. They were so loving and kind. They put all of us at ease. Most importantly, Ro. It was such a gift to be able to hold him and love him as he took his final breath. I Really didn’t want him leaving in a box and I know they could tell that. So instead they wrapped him in his blanket and helped carry him out. I will be forever grateful for their kindness. Thank you Readi-Vet. Thank you dr. Matthew. Thank you Abby.

Truly the best experience I’ve ever had with a vet. I have 2 cats who spent months in and out of several homes and rescue centers. They’ve been with me for the past few years and still have strong adverse reactions to carriers & car rides. One of mine consistently has extreme panic attacks during the drive over to the vet - panting, foaming at the mouth, crying, overheating… it’s awful to be next to her on the drive and even worse knowing I’m causing her the stress. It’s usually severe enough that the vets are meeting me in the parking lot. After our vet visits, all 3 of us were completely drained, and it takes at least a day or two for all of us to recover from the emotional stress. So, I started researching, and found ReadiVet. I was a bit skeptical at first but was able to find bios and degree/licensure info of the vets on my local team (Nashville) from their website. It was obvious they had a more than capable team. They were prompt and communicative prior to their arrival. Both Abby and Dr. Matthews were so friendly and professional, and came fully prepared! They spent quite a bit of time letting my cats warm up to them, which made a massive difference. They were also super flexible during their visit and adapted to everything, even when we wound up all crammed into my bathroom with the more anxious cat! Their visit never felt rushed and they answered every question I had. Dr. Matthews sent over the results of a culture she had taken during the visit within an hour. I’ve waited longer than that AT the actual vet’s office so the rapid results were such a surprise! The next morning (a weekend!) I received a message from their team asking how my cats were doing after their visit, which is truly just them going above and beyond. I can’t say enough positive things about this team. The care and knowledge they possess are so obvious. And I feel so much better not having to put my cats through obviously stressful conditions to get them the medical care they need. Save yourself and your animals the stress of traditional vet visits… I can’t recommend ReadiVet enough.

When it comes to a genuinely amazing vet - Readivet is unmatched. They are reliable, honest and operate with integrity. They take the time to answer any questions that can range from training to tips and tricks, explaining different options available for certain issues, as well as sharing their own personal experiences. Not only did they leave having formed a connection with my puppy, but they did with me as well. I recommend them to anyone who is looking for the best overall healthcare for their animal with the added benefit of having them available anytime to text/call about a minor thing or something bigger. My puppy and me could not be happier with our choice of our long term Vet!
