How to Save Money at Forest Park Animal Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I cannot express how much I love this clinic. My dog, Kale, is super anxious and really struggles at the vet. I let the staff know before her appointment and everyone from the front office staff to the vet techs and Dr. Wolf treated her so beautifully! I love that the scale is in the hallway and that I can help Kale onto it so she doesn't panic if taken away from me to go get weighed. The design of the waiting area and exam rooms is super calming with soothing colors. Dr. Wolf was kind and patient with Kale and let me be involved with keeping Kale calm and collected. After ear swabs and a full body exam, Kale got some puppy cheese whiz and she was sooo happy! Going to the vet is still not her favorite thing (and probably never will be) but wow did Dr. Wolf and all of the staff at Forest Park Animal Clinic go above and beyond for us. 100% we will be back and Dr. Wolf will be Kale's vet from now on! We will be taking our cat here as well once it is time for her yearly exam. Thank you so much for all your clinic does!

I took my old cat Esther to Forest Park Animal Clinic for a Solensia injection to treat her arthritis. They are one of the few veterinary clinics in Knoxville that carry this product and it was my first visit to this clinic. I loved it!. Dr. Leigh Whitmire and her technician Halcyon were so sweet and gentle with old Esther. She purred through the whole visit. She even took a nap in the sunbeam on the exam table! I wholeheartedly recommend them!

I can’t even tell you where to begin with this place. First of all, my appointment was for 11 on a Saturday, so just before they were set to close. I didn’t like doing that, but figured my kitty’s issue was super minor, in and out and gone long before. Well, it turned out to be more complicated than we thought, but the team at Forest Park never made us feel rushed or unwanted. They were so patient with us. Beignet was treated to a full exam, she and her carrier cleaned up from her unexpected parking lot accident (sorry about that, everyone), and Dr. Patterson examined every inch of her from nose to tail with the utmost care. She got her meds, lots of love from the amazing nurses and receptionists, kisses and hugs and sent on her way. I have only been in Knoxville a month, but Forest Park is definitely my #1 unexpectedly wonderful find. I don’t plan to take Beignet anywhere else from now on. Just call, you won’t be disappointed! (Plus, their choice of decor is fantastic)

I think it is so so important to write reviews for vet clinics so here i am. I have a little kitten named Pretzel and we absolutely adored this clinic and everyone in it. My ex vet clinic just sort of took pretzel to the back room for everything and they hardly ever spoke to me, so coming here was a huge shell shock. I was treated with such kindness and i feel so well taken care of. Dr. Wolf explained everything to me in great detail and made sure i was in the know about pretzels health and what was going on. I was also pleasantly surprised with the cost of the services i was provided. 10/10 would recommend all fur baby parents come here.

I called yesterday as a first time patient with a very sick kitten, and they got me in that very afternoon and took phenomenal care of her! I will continue to take all of my animals here. The staff and vets are amazing! They are also extremely reasonably priced which I was pleasantly surprised about because this has not been my experience in the past, as they provide top notch care! Highly recommend!
