How to Save Money at BluePearl Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I feel lucky to live within 100 miles. It’s so hard to find veterinary specialists, and having so many in one facility is impressive. I feel like this is the Mayo Clinic for animals. I was also relieved to get good news and a conservative treatment plan. Even though they could have done an additional ultrasound, they didn’t and felt like we could wait until first. Not that everyone was friendly, helpful, very patient, and talkative, and nobody was in a rush. That was probably the best part of the experience. I knew I could talk to Dr. Golly as long as I wanted.

Second time we have used Blue Pearl for weekend emergency. This time our German shepherd had his stomach roll. We knew it could happen with this breed and we're watching. Blue Pearl saved a magnificent and sweet Shepherd named Hank so he can do what he does for more years. Front desk people to vets to on call surgical team, this place is first rate. Great resource for all pet lovers. Thanks. Hank is doing great.

The care my Woodley gets at Blue Pearl is excellent. The oncology department is phenomenal. We started there in 2021 and Woodley goes up every few months to get a sonogram. I love the love she gets. Her tail wags when she sees her people. Thank you Dr. Jackson for her wonderful care.

We were incredibly impressed by the whole visit! Everyone that works there seems to truly love what they do. Everyone from the front desk to the doctor treated our pup like a princess! They were so gentle and kind with us as well, which means everything when your baby is sick. The doctors are so knowledgeable and made everything easy for us to understand. The place is beautiful, clean, and gives an overall feeling that your pet is getting the best care. It made it an easy choice for us to drive two hours away to have our pup’s oncology needs met. We could not say enough good things about BluePearl. We’re so grateful to them!🫶🏼

I feel compelled to share my gratitude for Blue Pearl, a veterinary center that not only demonstrates ethical business practices but also goes above and beyond in providing compassionate care. In a world where trust is paramount, it was reassuring to find a place that values transparency and honesty. The reason for my visit was due to a surgery my dog had undergone at her regular vet. They had omitted to provide pain medication for my dog post-surgery, underestimating her potential discomfort. They felt as though she would not need it. at 12:00 am when the pain became evident, I sought help at Franklin Emergency Vet. I didn't realize it was a limited clinic. Legally they are only allowed limited strength pain meds that they are allowed to administer. The center could have taken the high road by acknowledging its limitations and referring me to Blue Pearl. Instead, they opted to charge a substantial amount for services that fell short of meeting our needs. Then at 1:30 in the morning, I ended up at Blue Pearl. Not only did they promptly attend to my dog's needs, but it was just so clear that Blue Pearl prioritizes the well-being of the animals they care for.Dr. Meier, DVM expressed genuine empathy for the situation I had been through with the previous center. They chose compassion over profit, understanding the ordeal we had been through. Blue Pearl's kindness and selflessness during a difficult time will forever be etched in my memory. Their actions spoke volumes about their commitment to the well-being of pets and their owners. I wholeheartedly recommend Blue Pearl to anyone seeking not only professional veterinary care but also a compassionate refuge during challenging times.
