How to Save Money at Little Angels Veterinary Urgent Care and Mobile Veterinary Services

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

These folks have been helping me with my elderly Great Dane Smokey Joe, coming to my home when he was too sick to transport. They are amazing! They just helped me say goodbyes to my wonderful boy. I am very grateful for their love and care.

I wish I had gotten the names of the two ladies who came this morning to my house to help me say goodbye to my gentle giant, Tank. They were so so sweet and very patient. Thank y’all both so much for everything. My heart is heavy but I know he was in such great hands with you two. If y’all need a vet for anything, please use Little Angels.

I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Naroo and her team. Thank you for being to caring and compassionate with our fur baby Paige. Our 12 year old boxer. She fought her cancer like a boss. But unfortunately it was time! Dr Naroo came to our home and very gently put our dog to sleep. She explained everything that was going on during the process. It can’t be an easy job watching the dog owners cry their eyes out and having to watch the last breath of these babies. It takes a special person to be able to maintain during those kinds of visits. I highly recommend Dr. Naroo and her team for anything and everything !!! Thank you for making one of the worst days of my life just a little bit easier. And by the way you are the only vet in 12 years that Paige has ever let touch her! Dr. Naroo the dog whisperer!!! We love you guys!

Hands down the best vet and staff around! We have used the mobile clinic on several occasions. Earlier this year we had to put our baby Sugar down. Doc come on. Sunday evening after being busy all day. She came right over. They are the friendliest, most compassionate and reasonable vet staff I've seen. Love them and highly recommend them to anyone!!! Not used urgent care clinic yet but I'm sure it's as great as mobile clinic!

My 16 year old dog needed to be put down today due to several health issues. She never liked going to the vet and it always made her so nervous in the car. My husband was adamant about having her put to sleep at our home so she would be comfortable. Dr. Courtney came to our home and helped us ease her suffering in a very intimate and humane way. She was eating bacon the entire time as we said goodbye. I called so many vets in town to see if they could do a home visit for us and only Dr. Courtney was able to help us out. This Doc has an incredible bedside manner that made me feel like we were old friends. She explained everything so that we were ready and didn't rush the process. Izzy, our dog wasn't bothered at all by her presence. She felt safe in her lasts moments. That was very important to us. I recommend Courtney with LAMVS more than any other human being I've ever left a review for. 2,000 stars isn't an option on Google. Side Note: I expected to pay way more for this service and was surprised at how affordable it was. I would have paid 3x more for the services we received today.
