How to Save Money at Concord Road Animal Hospital & Pet Spa
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I cannot express how grateful I am to Dr. Eliza for the amazing care she provided to my corgi, Birdie, during her spay surgery!! From the moment we walked into the clinic, Dr. Eliza was compassionate, professional, and incredibly reassuring. She took the time to explain every step of the procedure, answering all of my questions with patience and expertise. Birdie, who can be a bit anxious, was calm and comfortable in her care. The surgery went flawlessly, and Dr. Eliza's gentle approach during recovery made all the difference. Birdie bounced back quicker than I expected, and I know it’s thanks to the exceptional skill and attention she received. Dr. Eliza’s genuine love for animals is evident in everything she does, and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with Birdie's care. If you’re looking for a vet who truly goes above and beyond, look no further than Dr. Eliza. She’s simply the best!!!

I have been incredibly satisfied with my and my pup's experience at Concord Road Animal Hospital! For years, I had taken my dog to a different vet clinic in the Nashville area. However, he began having concerning health symptoms and that clinic told me it would be 9 days (9 days!!) until I could bring my dog in to be seen. My dog was not comfortable and needed to be seen on shorter notice. That's when my positive experience with Concord Road Animal Hospital began! It's located very close to my house, so I called to see how quickly they could get my dog in. They were able to make space in the schedule for him to be seen in a mere 20 minutes! From there, everything was even more wonderful--the staff is very accommodating, and Dr. Eliza Cary in particular has been amazing. She has given my pup incredible attention and care, has been gentle with me when relaying difficult news about my pup's health and prognosis, has been very generous with her time, and has even called me to check in on how my dog is doing without my prompting. When I need medication refills, the office is very prompt about preparing it for me, and the staff are very easy to get in contact with whenever I need to update them about something regarding my dog's health. Moving forward, Concord Road Animal Hospital is the only vet I will use in the Nashville area, and I highly recommend this vet clinic (and Dr. Cary in particular!) to any pet parents out there for routine or acute pet healthcare. You won't be disappointed!

Do not take your dog here for end of life. Either they are uneducated, have no empathy, or are incompetent. Regardless, there is no excuse for what happened to us. They terrified my dog at the moment of death. His last moments, he was scared, hurt, and confused. The conditions were not conducive to establish a safe environment for the dog nor us owners. Perhaps it comes with the territory, but I would recommend not taking your dog here for end of life service. I’m sure not all who work there are as I described, but I can guarantee there are infinitely better settings than what they can provide for that service. And whomever thinks to reply to this from there, please remember you are working a job. You are not your job. Choose to understand I have left out descriptive & factual details that would make you all look even worse. Please just educate your doctors, update your procedures, and properly inform your customers. This is not for the people who work there, this is to warn their potential customers: If you love your dog, take them somewhere else… or at least avoid Ben.

Concord Road Animal Hospital has been amazing for my dog, Hattie! We switched over there to get a second opinion on her allergies since our previous vet was not addressing the issues effectively. Dr. Ben Larson and his team quickly pinpointed the causes and solutions. I can confidently say they have always been caring, responsive, and incredibly helpful. Thank you for all you do!

They got us in same day, which I fully appreciated! My puppy wasn’t feeling terrific, but the vet tech and Dr. Eliza made him feel so happy and comfortable. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes, didn’t add on any additional testing, but did advise it may need to be done if he continues to feel worse. We left with two prescriptions and a happy pup. The prices were super reasonable and happy to have found a nice vet close to home.
