How to Save Money at Gentle Care Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
We drive from Germantown to Bartlett because Gentle Care has been such a good and caring Vet for us over the last 30 yrs. Super Docs and staff. Only issue , like every other vet clinic, is that heart worm, tick and flea medications are too expensive, making me go on-line.

I just moved back to the area and chose this vet because of all the great reviews alone. I took 2 of my 3 dogs today for general exams/vaccines/nail trims. One of them is a little *feisty*, but they did so great with him. He could tell he was in good hands because he did not put up a fight when getting examined or getting his nails trimmed. I so appreciate them taking their time with him and making sure he was comfortable. Dr. Finley and all of the staff (front desk included!) were so great and kind. They were so gentle (now I see where they get the name of the practice) with both of my babies, from the exam to the vaccines and nail trim. My feisty dog actually has a skin infection, and they wouldn't do vaccines on him yet because of the meds he needs to take. To me, this further proves they care about the well-being of the animals, NOT about the money! The practice itself is clean, and the waiting area is large. You can tell they don't overbook, which is helpful for pet owners and the owners alike, as the waiting room and wait time are not stressful like at other places.

The staff here at this location really are exceptional at what they do for these animals. They really are. I’d like to thank everyone that has given advice and taken time to answer questions regarding my first dog and now my new addition to the family. Keep up the great work. Trust me your work does not go on and I again, thank you for answering all the questions I have. I have Nita answers for over the period of time that I had my pup- must continue success to all of the friendly staff members. I would like to acknowledge someone that I was one on one face-to-face with and conversation. I believe her name was Elgin Elgin. I hope I got it correct and there have been others that worked at front desk, and a self pleasant and personable kudos to the entire staff.

Our cat takes prescription medicine. The vet pharmacy was out due to delivery issues. The front desk was quick to get us a written prescription to take to A close local pharmacy, along with paperwork for a discount. Five stars for service and empathy for our pet, and solving the problem very quickly.

Awesome animal hospital! The receptionists are friendly with great customer service skills, the Vet techs are compassionate professionals and the doctors are some of the best that you’ll ever find! I’m a patient of Dr. Jamie Bishop and I followed her from her last office in Olivebranch, MS to her current practice in Bartlett, TN! My three babies LOVE her! She has a vast knowledge of veterinarian medicine and a true passion for animals! Coupled with an amazing personality and warm bedside manner, this makes her a GREAT doctor! She’s a real gem! So blessed to have her as my veterinarian! May God bless them for all that they do! 🙏❤️💕
