How to Save Money at Myrtle Beach Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I've been bringing my beloved fur babies to Myrtle Beach Animal Hospital on Joe White Avenue since 2016, and I couldn't be happier with the care they receive here. Ninja, my loyal canine companion, and Meg, my other furry friend, have both found a second home here. Dr. Isabella and the entire staff at this hospital are exceptional. Meg absolutely adores her visits, and it's evident in her wagging tail and excitement when we arrive. That kind of genuine love and trust Meg has for the staff speaks volumes about the quality of care they provide. Not only are they knowledgeable and professional, but they're also incredibly caring and compassionate. It's clear that they genuinely care about the well-being of our pets, and that means the world to me as a pet parent. I can't thank Myrtle Beach Animal Hospital enough for the years of excellent care and the peace of mind they've given me. If you're looking for a veterinarian that treats your pets like family, this is the place to go. I wholeheartedly recommend them! Thank you, Myrtle Beach Animal Hospital, for everything you do for Ninja, Meg, and all the furry friends who walk through your doors.

I can not thank Dr Ying enough. We have an aggressive 130 lb German Shepherd with a severe ear infection and an inflamed prostate. No one was willing to go near him even with a muzzle. So they just prescribed him pills and sent us home. King has never once swallowed a pill and never will. Dr Ying was highly recommended by Darina and Tara. We explained the symptoms and she immediately knew the diagnosis. She was not scared to approach or examine King. She recommended other methods for the infection and inflammation other than pills. She is so patient, thorough and effective. King is now a happy boy. After his treatment, his aggression even diminished quite a bit. Some may say he is just getting older but I say thank you Dr. Ying.

This vet took in a new patient 2 years ago instantly when she ate my plants, elephant ears. Very toxic to dogs and mine was just a pup. Cost was reasonable, and they kept her overnight. Recently, they accepted another older dog of mine and I can't say enough about how well he was treated. He even Liked them and he has never liked the vet.

I had just moved here and did not have a vet yet. I had a 13 year old dog that was at the end of her life. I didn't know who to call , so I googled and called mb animal hospital. The receptionist got me in right away and they put my baby down. They were all so caring and super supportive. I would highly recommend them. I will definitely be a customer for a long time. Thank you all for making a difficult decision, just a little more easier.

Dr. Isabelle was great with my almost 2 year old blue pitbull. My girl had a all of a sudden skin allergy show up on her undersides from her neck down her chest that was secreting. Dr Isabelle and staff was so nice to my girl and got her fixed right up. It was a bit more pricey then I was expecting but it was because of her skin condition and being a new patient. They didn't discriminate or show signs of fear because she's a pitbull or anything. I am very pleased with the care we received. They also fit us in on a Saturday when I called on Friday as a new patient. Thank you Dr Isabelle and staff @Myrtle Beach Animal Hospital!
