How to Save Money at PawMed - Veterinary Urgent Care
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

We went to PawMed with our daughters Lab on Sunday. The wait was two hours because the person in front of us had many animals to be seen, so not the fault of PawMed. We were made aware of the wait and told we could wait at home. Unfortunately, home isn't close so we waited in the car. While we were waiting someone drove up to the door and ran in saying his dog was unresponsive. Everyone in PawMed ran out to help. They assessed the dog and gave the owner directions to the Emergency Vet. The whole staff stopped to try and help. They care and it shows. Once our dog was seen the Tech and the vet were amazing! The vet explained everything to us in detail and we were given clear instructions to take home. Thank you PawMed for taking good care of our boy!!

Took our dog there with an ear infection after our regular vet said they were booked for two weeks. They were able to call and let us know when to come so we didn’t have to wait a long time which was greatly appreciated. Dr Marscher and the vet tech were amazing. They treated our pup with love and the best care. Their prices for an urgent care I thought were more than reasonable and better than our regular vet. Wish they could be our full time vet. Highly recommend.

We went to PawMed today and had such a great experience. The whole facility was very clean and peaceful/calming, and there was a wait but for a walk in urgent clinic it was really not as bad as other facilities I've been to. We were in and out relatively quickly and the staff was very polite when I called to inform them we were on the way. Dr Thomas was SO knowledgeable and approached my dog in a way that made her feel very comfortable and calm. I love that she talked us through everything and gave us options for care and treatment plans, whereas other urgent cares seem to price gouge and play on your emotions. She was positive, kind, down to earth, and we really appreciated her answering all of our questions. Molly was also wonderful with our baby. Over all I am very satisfied with the way my dog was cared for, and although this location is somewhat further from my house, I will continue to recommend and go to PawMed for any urgent pet care needs that arise.

The staff at PawMed were incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and compassionate to our family and sick doggo. Despite being very busy, we were seen shortly after arriving, every test was thoroughly explained before it was run, and they gave us multiple treatment options and medications before going home. Roxie girl is already starting to feel much better and we are so grateful for this urgent care clinic!!

The staff was very professional, loving and empathetic during one of the most difficult days of my life. The decision to put my first dog to sleep at 13 years of age finally became a reality. Delilah will be missed forever.
