How to Save Money at Buckwalter Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
We have been patients (our animals) of Buckwalter Vet Clinic for several years and are so satisfied with all the TLC, knowledge and experience we get from all the doctors, especially Dr Daniel Iyer. The time they take with our pets, getting right down on the floor with them and having conversation, I love it. They are dog whisperers for sure. And the follow up is amazing and personal and not limited to calls. They text and email making it easy for all to keep a good line of communication open. My husband and I are grateful that we have them nearby and highly recommend them to everyone we know and here, on Google. You won’t be sorry. Thank you all! Dona, Joe & Hercky

I'm visiting the area and was in need of a vet for my dog who was having some heart issues. I called Buckwalter Vet and they quickly got me an appointment. I'm so happy to have found them. They were able to help, the staff is amazing and very caring to your animal. They were very thorough and explained so much to us about what was going on with our dog. My only wish is that I could continue to have them as our vet but we live in WI. I can't say enough about Dr Iyer and his staff of technicians. He even followed up with me a few days later to see how are dog was doing and answered a few more questions. I highly recommend this vet service.

Veterinary service at its finest. The front office staff is so helpful in setting up appointments, filling prescription or food orders and making sure the Veterinarian or Vet Techs know you've arrived. The Vet Techs are so good at taking your pet's history, forwarding any pertinent information to the vet and answering any questions. Most importantly, the Veterinarians are incredibly caring about your pet's health and making sure you're well informed about your pet's plan of treatment. Truly feel lucky to have found such a good veterinary practice for my pets. High quality service!

I love my dogs as they are my family members. When I look for a vet, it is important to me that my vet cares about my pets and takes his/her time to properly treat my pet with kindness and care. In my experience, Buckwalter vets are my kind of vets. I only happened to see Dr. lyer, and am grateful for the way he treats my injured Great Dane and I (demanding parent of my furry babies). He takes his time to explain and is extremely tentative, knowledgeable, kind, and thorough. I know the recovery of my Dane may not be fast or easy, but I trust Dr. lyer and his staff (specifically thanks to Marlee who previously helped to take care of my sick boxer Dazy who at the end got to live until 14 year old), and I know he does what’s best for the recovery of my baby. It is impressive how kind and understanding everyone here and I’m thankful from the bottom of my heart for the care we have received so far.

Staff is really kind and helpful. I have 2 dogs 1 cat and they have always gone above and beyond for them. Pricing is very reasonable probably the best there is in the area. I’ve used Doc Iyer and Fulper and they are both amazing. I highly recommend trusting Buckwalter Vet to anyone. They are also gentle and playful with the pets and my pets love going to the vet which is very nice!
