How to Save Money at Magnolia Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
We visited Magnolia Emergency Vet due to the very sudden and serious illness of one of our fur babies last week. Dr. Alex and Tech Angela navigated one of the toughest days with compassion, kindness, and vast knowledge. We truly can’t express our gratitude to them both, and we’re so thankful Corrina received the best care she deserved. Though the genetic diagnosis was heartbreaking, Dr. Alex and Angela answered every question, explained all test results, and took the time to be in the moment with us. Though I know we all deeply wished for a different outcome, she was truly in the care of angels in her final hours. Highly recommend Magnolia for all cases! Especially in moments where you know your pet needs immediate care, I would trust no one else but them. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Been going there 14 years. Have had many dogs taken care of there i used to have 5. They all got operated on, and eventually as their respective times came, put to sleep. Now I have 2 more rescues plus 2 rescued kitties. I continue to rely on magnolia. Are they miracle workers? No. Do they charge a lot? No more than any other vet pretty much. Do they care? Yes but it is a business not a charity they have quite a few vets that want their salaries! Compared to prices up north they are very reasonable. The main thing is they have good support staff techs and front desk. They do work miracles sometimes. They're human.

Our fur babies are so important! I'm so thankful for the treatment I received immediately from the time I walked in. My sweet Nova was so sick and made a mess on the floor. The sweet receptionist cleaned it all up and made me feel so comfortable about the process. The techs I encountered were so helpful and so comforting! I wish I could remember everyone's names because I would love for all of them to get a raise! I have NO doubt that they saved my sweet baby! Thank you for being so great and giving us an awesome first experience!

I had a very good experience the other night when I had to bring my dog, Charlie in for emergency care. He was assessed and treated very quickly and all the staff was very friendly. For 10pm-11:30pm staff- they seemed in very good moods and like they liked their jobs and wanted to help us. They took blood, gave him medicine in house and meds to take at home. Thankfully, with their help Charlie is feeling much better. Thanks Magnolia staff.

Saturday October 21st I brought my 7 yr old lab mix in thinking she may have a partial blockage or bloat. Dr alex told us she had a tumor that was most likely cancerous. We immediately wanted surgery. He was completely up front and honest about outcomes and cost. He called us late that night and said she wasn't going to make it. My dog recieved a terminal diagnosis and was euthanized in less than 10 hrs. He was very empathetic and did not rush and gave us all the options. I'm still completely shattered but I am thankful we received a doctor that that was knowledgeable on the condition. Top 2 worst days of my life but I am thankful with how we were treated.
