How to Save Money at Electric City Animal Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Incredible staff! It was super busy but everyone was in great spirits (clients and staff both). The tech and vet were extremely knowledgeable and took their time to address all concerns. I was able to get my cat’s claws trimmed as well with no fuss. First time customer and will continue to use them as my primary care for the cat! 💯

The day I called them they were on the ball. I knew my dog of 17 years was nearing the end of his life. They listened and cared so very much for my Jake and for me. The gentleness and love they showed as my heart was breaking into millions of pieces. They gave me time as I cried my heart out. They cared so much for me and my fur child, companion, protector, best explorer pal, my shadow, my life best friend and they understood what I was loosing. How does one end such an unconditional relationship and pick up all the hurt of saying goodbye once and for all? I hurt so badly and couldn’t stop crying but I thank God everyday that this little amazing dog entered my life, my heart. These people understood and out of mercy and kindness gave me his footprint in clay and a bottle of his hair. Thank you for your gifts of mercy and love. Thank you for caring.

Our Koda is back to his happy self thanks to Electric City Animal Clinic and Dr. Finke! They were kind enough to work us in early Monday morning even though we haven't been a patient of theirs in the past. Koda woke us up early Monday morning in severe pain, and he really scared us. After calling around several places and being told he couldn't be seen until the following day, I called Electric City Animal Clinic, and they got us in within an hour. All of the employees were very friendly. We had no wait. He was treated in the most efficient way possible, and he wasn't put through a bunch of unnecessary procedures that would have led to quite a large bill. Dr. Finke got us some prescriptions and told us what to do if there wasn't any improvement. Within 12 hours of his first doses of medicine we could already see improvement. Today you wouldn't know anything was wrong with him 36 hours ago. Thank you for taking care of us even when you didn't have to!

I brought my older dog in to be checked for weight loss. The staff was very thorough and kind. This was a hard visit and everyone was very compassionate about the situation. I was very thankful that I was given multiple options and reassured that there was not a wrong option to choose for my sweet canine pal that doesn't have much longer with me. I'm very thankful for everyone during this visit!

The appointment was originally for 2 different animals. I had a unexpected emergency with my dog, I called that morning - and they were able to see us. Even able to fix his issue that required him to be asleep for. So thankful for the staff and dr.
