How to Save Money at BluePearl Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I brought my dog in twice this week for some very scary, quickly escalating GI issues. Dr. Marks and every tech and receptionist we saw were wonderful. They were caring, gentle, reassuring, and most importantly honest about what was happening with my dog and the best way to take care of him. They were also transparent and sensitive to the fact that he needed help when I financially couldn’t take on lots of treatments. The cost of veterinary care is what it is- but they knew how to get the most information impossible in the easiest way for me. They were honest and realistic from the start and if you have pets…you know how valuable that is. 10/10. I hope me and Tank don’t need to see them again soon…but if anything that needs an ER happens to my fur family from here out I know exactly where I’m going! Thank you!

We came in after midnight with our dog who was suffering with unknown cause of pain. The receptionist was very efficient and fast with imputing our data so that we could be seen quickly. Dr. Nelson was knowledgeable and thorough in his examination and process of diagnosis.Anyone could see that the nurse was experienced with handling animals and answering all of our questions and concerns. The facilities were clean and well equipped and pricing was fair. We were very pleased with the service and would highly recommend it to animal owners in need of emergency services.

We needed our almost 13 year old dog seen on Christmas Eve. Blue Pearl was able to see him quickly, and all the staff were wonderful. Our boy got great treatment and we left the office able to enjoy the holiday. The vet that saw him even offered that if we had any questions later that day, or on Christmas, to call, saying she would be on duty. Could not recommend them more.

Everyone was awesome with me and my cat. They took great care of her and gave me time to pay for everything. An update BluePearl did a really great job once again. A month ago, I lost my cat Chirpie/Chirpy, but the staff at BluePearl made me feel comfortable, and they remained helpful with the choice to take away my cats' suffering. I want to thank the morning staff that was there July 14 from the receptionist to the vet techs. They did a great job of working with me and my finances and taking care of my baby Chirpie/Chirpy in her final moments. These are old pictures, but they're after her first time going to BluePearl. Thank you, BluePearl, for your compassion and support.

I’ve come to BluePearl once in the past for an emergency and they did a great job in taking care of my cat when he accidentally ate something he wasn’t supposed to. Came back this time around for a leg surgery and they took care of my cat wonderfully once again! Very responsive to all my questions and definitely made me feel like my baby was in great hands. Just wish they were also open on weekends!
