How to Save Money at Endless Mountains Veterinary Center, PC - Montrose Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Our Experience With EMVC Montrose PA. We took all 5 of our pets to Dr.Crowley for 20 years, nothing fancy but the best of care! Then to Town&Country. Our dog got sick over the weekend, unfortunately Town&Country was booked. First mistake. So I called emvc they said bring her tues. could not go in with her as of Covid. they called me said they wanted to run Tests it would be about $200 I said ok, called me back and said with medication and small bag of dog food $32.99 it was $895.90. After getting her home started her on meds the next day she went from eating a little to one bit, next day nothing. I called them said meds did not help, again next day she wasn't any better and seemed full of fluid, took her back saturday The second mistake was taking her back They said they wanted to run heart test that would be $274. with another med. 5days now. By sunday Much worse, day6 She vomited up a blood clot the size of my hand, and of course closed. So I called Northeast vet referral in Plains Pa. hour away. They came out with a strecher ran test altrasound oxegan said she had about 30ml of fluid mixed with blood that would have to come off, she was in really bad shape and it didn't look good. She was weak and had suffering so long we decided to have her put to sleep. As they where bringing her back to say good by, she could see us through the glass door, she pick her head up high she thought she was going home. I hugged her as she went to sleep, Funny I was just playing with her the week before. The vet and staff felt so bad and where so kind. The cost for everything tests and treatment, cremation and paw print photo was $498. not a fancy place but very good care! we had a 16year old that died in 2016 a15year died last year both dogs, and this year our Rosie. now left are a13old dog and 16 year old cat, thats a long time they are family! SO go with your gut feeling.

We were in the area visiting family and our dog was very lethargic. She started to limp, her paw became swollen, and she had a fever. We were very concerned and my family had recommended that we contact EMVC. They got us in quickly and evaluated her. Everyone was so kind, helpful, and friendly. Dr. Stephen thoroughly evaluated and then explained what was going on and how it could have happened. He prescribed antibiotics and they showed us how to clean the infected area. She started walking on it within a day or so and fully recovered within a week. We are so thankful!! They called us after a week or so to check in on her- so thoughtful. Thank you, EMVC-Montrose! 😄

We were not current patients of this clinic. My grandsons dog was diagnosed with an intestinal blockage. No vet would help us. Everyone sent us to er hospitals all of which were busy. My grandson called this office and they were willing to see him in a few hours because surgery day was Thursday. They did X-ray and bloodwork , diagnosed the problem and scheduled surgery this morning. Surgery was done, had blockages in stomach and intestines. We want to say how grateful we are to Dr. Stevenson and their staff. Everyone treated us with respect and concern. Everyone From the reception staff to the techs and the surgeon treated my grandson with respect and compassion even though other places did not consider him because he is young. Once again thank you for your consideration and compassion. I would recommend you to anyone, he had a 45 minute commute but it was well worth it. Thank you once again for the help .with our little girl Allie. May you all be blessed

Don’t be .30 seconds late even though your driving 2 hours away otherwise they will cancel your apt. Walked through the door with no one else in the building/ parking lot and she was very Eager to say that she was canceling my apt and I would have to reschedule. I told her I had driven 2 hrs and got behind many slow vehicles and she watched the clock turn as I walked through the door and was very happy to tell me they were not seeing my puppies today. The rest of the staff had nothing to say as this women was being a ROYAL CU*T to me while I cried in their waiting room with my puppies and baby in my car seat. No kindness and no understanding. Wish I had something to say about the doctors but I never got to see one. 0 stars. I will be telling everyone I can not to go here unless they want to be treated like gum under the secretary’s god complex. Unbelievable.
