How to Save Money at VCA Willow Mill Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google

Need life saving and/or time sensitive medication for your animal? Don't come here or use the pharmacy services. Do yourself and your community a favor and support a locally owned and operated veterinarian clinic. Better prices and better levels of care from my experience. RESPONSE - You have my name, and it would take you 2 minutes to verify I am customer with all my information at your disposal. Typical corporate lip service. EVERYONE FROM CENTRAL PA please look at the reviews for all the VCA hospitals in the area and SORT BY NEW, don't let Google choose what reviews you should be looking at.

I’m going to try going one more time. I had gotten a free vet visit paper. I thought great that’ll be nice to see how the first visit goes. No one advised me that I would have to pay additionally. I live paycheck to paycheck so I always like to keep money aside for what I need. The vet tech was very knowledgeable with our new kitten. Once I found out we needed to pay I panicked. I confided in the vet tech that I had a lot of bills and wasn’t advised of the payment. She blatantly said “guess nows not the time to own a cat” little does she know I just lost my cat of 18 years (I adopted him when he was older) I do have 2 other cats but they’re over a year old now. Animals are therapy for me and I’ve had a lot going on so for someone to state I didn’t need a pet at this time stung. I know my responsibilities and again I always have enough money put on the side when I know what I need to pay. I also just lost my mom (my grandmother who was a mom to me) so yeah not the best time for snarky comments. I’m going to request not to see her ever again. But I’m giving this one last chance. I don’t trust vet offices.

Was taking my pets here for 3-4 years. Each time I went, I got attitude from Jennifer. She didn’t seem to like her job at all. They are owned by a corporation and will do anything to get your money. Don’t go there for an ear infection because they will run every test they possibly can just to make you pay for it, when you know your dog has an infection. Oh and by the way, don’t no call no show to your appointment. What they don’t tell you is that they have a policy for that, requiring you to pay a deposit prior to any of your pets being seen. I trusted this practice for a long time and after several complaints and sharing them with the office manager, I have gotten nowhere. They are out for money people.

I don't know how to say this without becoming too emotional. Our little fluffy girl was seen by Dr. Elayne, every time we went there we received nothing but amazing customer service, communication and attention to all of our needs. Skye unfortunately had a terminal disease and we had to make the most painful decision to put her to sleep, she was suffering so much and in so much pain. Dr. Elayne and her staff made this experience so memorable and comfortable not only for Skye but for myself and the family in the room. We received her ashes about 2 weeks after with some unexpected gifts such as her paw print and a letter from the Vet. This is the only place I trust with our furry babies and I recommend it 100000%

Amazing experience at VCA Willow Mill location! It was our first vet appointment since adopting our puppy and they were friendly, informative and made us and our pup feel extremely comfortable. Everything was explained to us and our Vet Dr. Cornbower gave us plenty of opportunity to ask if we had any questions about our puppy’s care and treatment plan. Great service from the first phone call to book in to the time that we checked out.
