How to Save Money at BluePearl Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
My best buddy Franklin ate an entire bottle of icebreakers gum that contained xylitol in the middle of the night. I brought him into BluePearl as soon as we woke up and I found the evidence. They triaged us immediately. I did feel as though our first vet tech had a lower frustration tolerance for both me and my dog. He was extremely anxious, barking non-stop and she rhetorically asked me things like “I thought you said he did better with you in the room?” And I could just feel her frustration with us overall. This wasn’t helpful, as I thought my dog was literally dying. Soon after, they take him into the back and I sob in the waiting room. The front desk staff were all incredible. Offering to bring me coffee, tea, water and brought me a box of tissues. I met with the doctor and financial department very quickly who were both in extremely compassionate. Before leaving my dog for hospitalization for two days, I requested to say goodbye. I was told no from the tech because he was anxious and had just calmed down, it felt personal after she showed her frustration with us. Later on the phone, I mentioned to the doctor about the tech and she said she would address it, and took me seriously. She must have actually done this because the same tech called me later and the attitude had shifted and she explained why I couldn’t say goodbye to my dog in a very compassionate way. Everyone has rough days, and this must have been one. ER veterinary is very difficult, I imagine. I only mention it because of how professionally it was handled and shifted later. As we got into the night shift, I called to see if I could visit and was told it’s not a great idea because of his anxiety. I understood and requested to drop off a comfort item, they allowed this and let me drop off a sweatshirt and his slow feeder. His new tech came out, Shawniall, and she was really the final thing to make this a wonderful experience for me. Even though I couldn’t (well, shouldn’t) see him, she brought her phone with pictures of him, told me stories about him, made sure she was putting in effort with him (it was taking two people to get his vitals before and she got it down by herself), she really went above and beyond. She made me feel assured that he was getting the care that he would get if I was watching. The doctor called me about an hour later, his liver enzymes have improved and they haven’t seen his blood sugar drop. They expect him to pull through. We still have another day of hospitalization and I was planning on waiting to post this review but I am extremely satisfied with the service so far. From my experiences, ER veterinary often lacks compassion because they’re rushed and desensitized. BluePearl’s staff does not suffer from these problems. I was treated with so much kindness and they saved my dog’s life after I made a fatal mistake. Attached are photos that Shawniall graciously emailed to me, helping ease my mind. Update edit: Franklin was discharged early because his sodium started rising after panting so much from his anxiety. Rarely do they discharge patients before 48 hours for xylitol poisoning. The doctors at BluePearl came up with a home treatment that was easy for me to follow, I brought him back in the morning to check his liver function one last time and we were sent on our way. BluePearl saved my best friend’s life. They did it with compassion and care. Every person there was helpful, kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and they treated my baby as an individual and came up with a plan to meet his needs best. I am astounded with the care provided.

The team at Blue Pear Pet Hospital was as a good as it gets. The friendly and concerned front desk staff welcomed us quickly and got what they needed to see my dog. The nurse who came out to triage was wonderful. She sat on the floor with my dog and loved on him while giving him a quick check-up. The worked fast, communicated effectively and, most importantly, provided a treatment plan that worked as promised. I would return to Blue Pearl without hesitation.

Our 1.5 old cat ate something, likely a bug, that made her very sick. The staff were friendly, caring, and responsive when we called and then went in. The vet was kind and presented two treatment plans. We decided on the more conservative one, anti- nausea med and injected saline, because we were fairly certain of the cause. The hardest part was not letting her eat for 12 hours, because we have another cat and they are on the same feeding schedule. By the end of the next day she was eating well and playing with her brother like nothing happened. Also, the price was reasonable.

Your team was wonderful with my cat Poppy. I appreciated that you offered both diagnostic and treatment routes up front. I am beyond thrilled to share that Poppy is doing so much better! The antibiotics are helping and she is regaining her balance as each day progresses. She’s also getting her appetite back! Thank you all for being so kind and caring and for offering such a wonderful space and team to our community!

Everyone was so kind, understanding & helpful during a very stressful time. I would recommend this place to anyone, pricing was fair all things considered. The staff were so sweet to my sick dog and I felt very comfortable. Happy to say that Sasha is back to herself and feeling great.
