How to Save Money at McMinnville Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Avoid this establishment at all costs. Your pets are not safe here. One Vet is is wonderful. My dog sent in for a surgery last year, when I picked him up, a learned the didn't even touch what they were supposed to do. Yet I was charged for it. The staff leaves for good reason. I have found another animal hospital I can trust. I think you should all do the same. The rumors are true what are spread about this "hospital".

Compassionate and caring staff, they took great care of my dog, his surgery went well and I can only say how thankful I am for them. My guy is old and they may have given me a little more time to love him. I highly recommend them.

So very friendly and straight forward. I've been coming here for 10 years, off and on. Tried other vets but this is the best and my fur babies live them

Not 5 Stars! I booked an exam for both my cats dropped them off (because I was not allowed in the exam room). We adopted our 9 year old cat, that was abused as a kitten. He has severe anxiety. There was a power outage in McMinnville, the vet clinic tried to keep both my cats overnight because they “couldn’t process payment due to power outage” I offered cash, Venmo, Zelle etc. They refused and held my cats. Luckily the power turned back on right before their office closed and I got both my cats back that day. When I finally got my cats after multiple hours, my cats eye was covered in topical flea treatment that they applied incorrectly(to my abused cat) 😭 This veterinary clinic is a JOKE!

I have no words as to where to start. This place used to hands down 4/5 years ago be the best place around with the best customer service. I guess to start the receptionist hands down is the rudest person I've ever encountered. Not just once but every interaction multiple times was absolutely horrible including having her yell at me that humans have nurses dogs do not (lady working in back room kept saying she had been there 30 years and was a dog nurse) After a visit there due to a uti which turned into only blood coming out day prior to our appointment and her lack of care or concern into being sent home w no answers day of appointment other then ua being taken but told it would be a day or two for results and complete refusal of any additional work being done or being sent home with pain meds / antibiotics and being told I could make a follow up appointment for blood work or cray a few weeks out. Our lethargic no longer active pup we ended up in the emergency vet next day. Spent 10 plus hours out at Bridgeport emergency vet we got the best treatment out there they took our pup in blood work urine work as current mac vet didn't send or fax in results per our request multiple times in a timely manner. SAVE YOUR MONEY GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE.
