How to Save Money at Lincoln City Animal Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

ASK FOR QUOTE BEFORE TREATMENT!!! I really like this place but I can never afford to return. For my cat to have a minor cut on her leg treated, plus they shaved off her mats, they charged $430! I literally almost fainted. And I had to rely on charity for groceries for a month. That said, they got my cat right in, the vet techs are fantastic. I never met the veterinarian, but the wound was well bandaged (no stitches needed) and they gave three days of antibiotics. The receptionists leave something to be desired. Completely unsympathetic. Like I said before, I literally almost fainted. I told her I was about to faint, I had to put my head down on the counter, she didn’t even care. Just sat there stone-faced. In general the receptionist staff seems overworked and short on friendliness. (Usually folks in LC are so kind.) However, kitty was well cared for and recovered nicely. I gave four stars because the pet care was excellent. I think your pet will be in good hands here. Just be aware going in, it may break the bank for a while.

Dr. Meghan Brooks and the Lincoln City Animal Clinic were a huge help when we were visiting on the Oregon coast in May of 2023. Our dog had a significant leg wound from a previous surgery (and infection) that was healing, but had suffered some setbacks while we were on the road. She had sutures around her wound to hold the bandage in place, and several had come out and her leg was in worsening condition. My wife and I were very worried and essentially had to take our chances with whichever veterinarian would see us. Lincoln City Animal Clinic was able to fit us in and treat her on the same morning that we called them, despite clearly being in demand from their regular clients. They were a massive relief to us, and they handled everything with professionalism and kindness. We were very impressed with every aspect of the clinic, from the front desk help to the capable and friendly vet tech to the doctors that treated our dog. They cleaned her wound, reapplied some sutures and made sure that we left with excellent advice on our dog's future care. Our dog's recovery really began at that point, and her condition improved from that point forward. Thanks so much to the clinic! They were great with our dog and they really saved our trip to the coast. If we lived in the area, we would definitely be clients!

The vets are incredible. The front desk staff is a whole other question. Don't be surprised if they put you on hold when you call and never come back to the phone. Dr. Brooks is amazing. She remembers me and my kids. Honestly, if she were to leave, so would we.

We moved here almost 2 years ago, and we were very sad to have to change vets. However, I can honestly say that our new vets at Lincoln City Animal Clinic are simply wonderful! Dr. Brooks (no relation), and Dr. Murphy are both very kind and very knowledgeable. Princess and George are in good hands no matter the situation ❤️

They got me in quickly and on a Sunday. Vet and tech were excellent. They took great care of my basset and got her fixed up. She had a bad double ear infection. I also felt their prices were very reasonable. I'd highly recommend.
