How to Save Money at Georgian Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I had a really big scare with my pup and I was so stressed about taking my dog to a vet as they can be so costly. But we worked out the different options based on price and a very reasonable deal was made ($272) and my dog is doing so much better already. Very happy with the service. Highly recommend 👌

We met the wonderful staff under very sad circumstances last week. While we were in the area on vacation, our 15 year old Boston Terrier, Stella, had a quick decline in her health. She had been dealing with a number of issues in the past year or so, and had put up with a number of medications and testing. Following a few seizures a couple of weeks ago, she had to receive subcutaneous fluid injections twice a day for the past two weeks in hopes of helping her kidneys. Last week after arriving at the cottage, she could not settle. She constantly paced day and night, and displayed signs of dementia, and was head pressing against walls and furniture. It was clear to us that she was rapidly getting worse, and we decided that the kindest thing to do was to let her go. We called the office at 8:00 Wednesday morning and we were told we could bring her in at 1:00 that afternoon. Every person we met at the clinic was so incredibly caring and compassionate. They were genuinely sorry for our situation, and they treated us so gently as we prepared to say goodbye. The whole procedure was explained to us, and when it was done they allowed us to stay with Stella as long as we needed to. We left knowing that she was treated with love and was now at peace. Thank you so much for the compassion you showed us on one of the most difficult days of our lives. It made saying goodbye to Stella a little easier. We’re going to miss her so much. She was the best girl ever.

A very friendly and thorough veterinary hospital. When I moved into the area, I was concerned about where I would bring my two pets for care. I am not disappointed. I recommend Georgian to anyone as concerned as I was.

The actual vet is wonderful and competent, but everyone else seems to have lacked education. First problem with them, I had a booking for my cat to be fixed and when I brought her in they claimed it was cancelled by ME? I said I never cancelled it as I did not. They kept telling me that I definitely did. I asked them for the email that sent the cancellation and they found It. The person's name was Collette, and their email had the name Collette in it which mine did not lol, and that person wanted to cancel THEIR fix. Not me. But for some reason because my cats name is Collette they thought I made a email for my cat lmao even though I had been emailing them from my personal email that was my first and last name. Second issue, when trying to re book my FELINES fix , the receptionist obviously knew nothing about cats as she told me I had to wait for six months after the cat was in heat to get it fixed. That's dogs lmao. Cats go into heat every month, she didn't believe me asked the vet and then realized I was right and booked it after the cancellation that shouldn't have happened. Lasty. I called today to find out if my cats were vaccinated against parvo, the receptionist tried to tell me that cats cannot get parvo. Which is not true. I had to tell her she was wrong, she didn't believe me then consulted the dr about it and told me that they were Infact vaccinated for parvo and it lasts 3 years. Take your pets somewhere more competent, anybody can pretend to be you at this place and they'll take their word for it, and none of the workers except for the actual doctor know anything about animal health. And it was a vet tech who tried to tell me we had to wait six months for the cat to be fixed
