How to Save Money at Dixie Eglinton Animal Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google

I wanted to thank Dr. Memon and the rest of the Dixie Eglinton staff for saving my boy’s life. My cat was vomiting, not eating and lethargic for over 24 hours- I immediately suspected that he had a blockage. After relaying this information to the clinic they were quick to book me in for an emergency appointment and he was scheduled to have surgery the same day. The surgery was supposedly complex due to his blood work levels coming in particularly high and Dr. Memon reassured me that he would try his best and work around the risks so that we have the most optimal chances for survival. It’s worth mentioning that I had taken my previous cat to a different vet that unfortunately passed away due to being misdiagnosed and having this same surgery. Needless to say, I was worried sick that this surgery would end poorly once again. I’m happy to be writing this review today because Dr. Memon handled the surgery and navigated the complications with so much care. He was very clear with his after care instructions and also made sure we understood what to expect in terms of his recovery following the next few days. After bringing my boy back home he was already up and ready to play with his favourite toys (see photo). Dr. Memon also personally called every morning to follow up and make sure he was doing well. It’s been about two weeks now post surgery and I’m happy to say he had no complications and healed so quickly. I could not be more grateful for the outcome and will only ever trust Dr. Memon to operate on my pets. Thank you to everyone at the Dixie Eglinton Animal Clinic once again!

Dr. Memon and all of the vet techs did a wonderful job with our dog Apollo. He needed his shots and was very skittish. It took 2 visits due to Apollo’s behaviour, but the team was so kind and patient with us. They tried multiple methods and didn’t give up. They went above and beyond. We can’t thank them enough. We greatly appreciate their excellent services and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a vet. Thank you so much! - Apollo’s family

I've been visiting them for a year now and every time the experience is great. They are very welcoming and professional. The staff is great with handling my cats and is very informative about everything you need to know before and after the visit. They always follow up with you the next few days to make sure everything is going well. I had 2 different doctors for my 2 Bengal cats during their spaying and neutering appointments as well as their surgeries. They were both very helpful with providing all the information, going through the process, and what I should expect afterward. Care instructions were explained in detail by the doctors themselves and the staff each time. I dropped off my cats early in the morning at approximately 9 am, and they were all good to go around 4-5 pm. In the meantime, they did kept me updated with them and the procedures. Best of all, they both did great during the surgery and recovered in less than a week or so. I was referred to them by a family member and now i refer all my friends and relatives here. Totally recommend, and you should try them out for yourself.

We brought our two cats here for their vaccinations and to have their ears checked for mites. Both the Vet and her assistant were extremely friendly and helpful. They were so nice to our cats. We have been to this clinic a few times now, and we’re very happy with the care they provided to our cats.

So very happy I found this clinic! From beginning to end, exceptionally efficient and trustworthy in every area, including of course the care of my little loved ones. Also, their billing practices are transparent, honest and reasonable. I highly recommend!!!
