How to Save Money at Peppertree Vet Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

We looked for a vet for a long time before we settled on Peppertree and Dr.Johnson. She is so personable and kind and our sweet one year old rescue pup loved her too. Dr. J and her husband Mark are professional yet so friendly and confident and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. We are so fortunate to have found Dr. J to take care of our Husky Girl.If you want your fur child to be treated by a Dr. That genuinely cares and knows EXACTLY what to do, then Peppertree is the vet to choose. They’re not in this business to overcharge and take advantage of your love for your pet. On the contrary, they take their time and run every test there is to ensure that your pet is in good health. Dr. J examined my dogs breasts. Yup, my girl got a breast exam! Didn’t even know she needed one. I will never worry about my pup again because I know Dr. J and Mark will always be there for her!

Dr. Johnson took my older dog in after my regular vet wouldn’t see her on a Saturday morning in June. My little girl was recently diagnosed with heart failure and I was very frantic as she appeared to be in distress. I spent the hot summer day driving to several places who were full and could not “fit her in.” After calling numerous veterinarian offices, Dr.Johnson answered the phone and talked to me directly (not office staff) and had me bring her in. She spent several hours with my dog helping me to understand her diagnosis and how to proceed with treatment. Both Doctor Johnson and her husband truly went above and beyond to help my little dog and me understood everything they were doing. She even visited with me about my other dogs medical issues. It was late at night once my small dog was okay go home and they made sure I was safe in my car before locking up for the night. Doctor Johnson even followed up with personal phone calls to check on my small dog. I felt like family after only one visit and will never go anywhere else.

Dr. Johnson is the MOST thorough Vet ever. She took her time with our sweet Husky Lab mix. Jetta went from being very skittish to not being scared at all. Sure wish we had used her for our last dog. If we had, she would most likely still be here. So thankful for Dr. Johnson and her amazing assistant Mark. They are quite the team! If you’re looking for a Vet, look no further than Peppertree Vet Clinic. She has over 30 years of experience and that equates to her dealing with all situations, whether minor or an emergency, she will solve any issues you have with your fur baby!

Went with a friend who's dog had seen several vets to try and determine what was wrong! Outstanding service! Personal time was taken with pet and human. They genuinely chose this profession out of love for animals. I as a pet owner would encourage you to choose them as the best available for all your pet needs! On 6/12 I made an appointment for my 8 year old cat! Point blank animal loving friends if you take your furamily anywhere else (other than an emergency) to these wonderful dedicated people who chose this profession as a result of their passion to give the best possible care to your animals you just made a colossal boo-boo. I'm not sure I can adequately communicate to you how much of a positive experience this was! I am moving across country in a couple of months and I asked if I could still consider Dr. Cheryl as my vet! I am blessed she said yes! I already feel better about the move knowing she will there for my animals and I! Don't waste the opportunity to go to the best!!
