How to Save Money at Oak Grove Veterinary Hospital INC.
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

DO NOT TRUST! This lady has misdiagnosed and killed at least 3 of my family’s dogs from new born to adult dogs. She does not know what she’s doing and they lie to you about “extra work” like blood work and tell you they did all this testing and charge you a fortune just to over dose or treat your animals incorrectly. I did some calling around and this lady makes horrible decisions and blames random stuff. NO! How she still has a license to operate a veterinarian practice is beyond me. Look no further than the comments for more assurance on this fact. I’m talking horrible, scarring deaths, totally preventable deaths. Your best friends deserve better care. EDIT: she also claims to “donate” to the SPCA which is a killing “dog shelter” of disgusting magnitude.

Took my dog in because she wasn't feeling herself and these people failed to test my dog for parvo and tjat she was fine and had no symptoms of parvo and we had to take her to urgent care to find out she's got parvo... oak creek vet has been exposed to parvo. Do not take your animals to this place, they do not care about the health and wellness of your animals. Oh and by the way the vet that so called helped me was Dr.fisher

Dr. Holly and her staff are wonderful. My daughter adopted this girl from their clinic and she has added a whole new dimension of excitement for her brother Gus.

When it comes to the receptionist we are apparently always told the wrong price. We first took our fur baby for shots and had gotten a price over the phone. Day of the appointment went great, staff was friendly. When we got to check out the price was pretty much doubled. I told them what I was told over the phone and they said that was wrong. I paid anyway and went on my day. Fast forward almost a year later. I called to schedule for her to get spayed, wanted to know their price for a 75lb lab so I called to either schedule or shop around. The lady on the phone told me it was spayed/neutered month and that for weight it was going to be $70 in the month of January and that in February it will go back up to the original price of $150. So of course like anyone else would I scheduled the appointment! Mind you we are 5 days away from her scheduled surgery and the clinic calls me to ask if I wanted to reschedule so I could take 20% of the service for the month of February. Of course I was super confused and told me what I was told and why of course I would book the appointment. And little behold they told me that was wrong and it’s never that low. And I had to cancel the appointment. I didn’t put up a fight cause I was flabbergasted. But sounds like they need to go their prices again with their staff. And I most likely will be switching vets unfortunately.

Absolutely love Oak Grove!! Jay and Brittney took excellent care of us. The staff is always excited to see us and always very helpful. We get immediate service and they have state of the art machines to get it done correctly the first time right then and there. I highly recommend Oak Grove Veterinary to anyone, even my grandma.
