How to Save Money at Northarlington Animal Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
This was my primary vet while living in Columbus for 5 years. I loved working with Dr. Teders and the rest of the staff! They were always very informative about any recommended vaccines or tests, upfront about pricing, and never pushy when it came to pricier decisions. I hated to leave as I felt I could truly trust them with my 10 year-old cat, Holly, but I recently moved out of state. Thank you to Northarlington Animal Clinic for taking amazing care of my baby! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a vet they can trust.

Where to start - there are so many good things to say about Dr. Teders and Northarlington Animal Clinic. We’ve been going for a couple years now after a friend recommended her. We joke that we can’t move out of Columbus because we don’t want to leave this place! We have had a lot of pets (aka family members) come through their doors and each one is treated with such impeccable care. We have a large dog who is a rescue and he HATES the vet, absolutely terrified. The entire that staff that has worked with him has never acted annoyed (believe me, he’s a lot and they handle it with grace) and do their best to make sure he’s as comfortable as possible. You can tell they all care deeply about your pets and want what’s best for them. I’m never worried about leaving my babies there because I know they’re in good hands! She’s always been honest with us about their care and never once have we felt they were “price gouging.” What ever they charge is worth it because they’re the best! We recently had to say goodbye to our other sweet senior dog and again, they were so kind and empathetic, giving us as much time as we needed even though it was a busy Saturday and they have a small number of exam rooms. That being said, I’ve rarely had to wait to be put in a room, but if you do, be patient, you have no idea what is going on in those rooms. They’re trying their best to accommodate everyone. I brag on Dr. Teders because we see her most frequently but every vet, tech, and staff member there is wonderful and extremely knowledgeable! Bonus - they have the cutest resident pets!

We've been taking our dog(s) here for years. The staff is always friendly and gentle with her and takes the time to answer our questions. It always feels like Dr. Teders truly cares about our dog's well-being and best interests.

I am so glad I decided to call North Arlington animal clinic. My boy was experiencing an urgent condition and he needed to be seen asap. I hadn’t found a new vet yet in the area and the guy at the front listened to what was going on, told me he would talk to the doc and see what they can do. He called me back quickly and they got me in a few hours later. My boy is big and was in a lot of pain. The vet and techs were all very kind, knowledgeable and attentive. I knew my boy was in good hands, he is feeling good as new now. Will be a loyal patient moving forward 🙂

The entire staff at this place is amazing. Extremely knowledgeable and kind with my very anxious dog as well as my five rats. It's very hard to find a vet clinic that not only will see my little critters but it's very knowledgeable about them and their needs. 3 of my girls have had surgery with them and they are amazingly attentive. 3 people in the OR at all times just to monitor a little rat. They always call me with updates on how the surgery went, which is great. I've also brought them 2 strays to check for chips, they were more than happy to scan the animals, no appointment needed. I always recommend them to my friends looking for a vet.
