How to Save Money at Health & Harmony Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

My dog absolutely loves going to the vet (as seen in the photo) and it's because of the entire team at H&H! They are all so friendly, caring, and understanding. We are both (my dog and I) always greeted whenever we come in and always receive a prompt follow up the next morning to make sure everything is still going okay. We can't recommend this place enough!

I cannot say enough good things about this vet clinic and Dr. Sarah Erwin, specifically. Dr. Erwin helped us through a situation earlier this year with our pup that was very difficult. She did so with the utmost kindness, respect, and empathy. We knew she really cared about us and our sweet boy. Dr. Erwin is super knowledgeable and shares her knowledge openly without any fluff, which we appreciated. She’s very straightforward about concerns, what she’s seeing, how much certain things may cost, and an appropriate plan of care. We simply couldn’t have been happier with Dr. Erwin and are so grateful to have found her. The other wonderful, warm, and supportive ladies (I won’t name them because I don’t want to leave anyone out!) at Health & Harmony have made our experience that much better. From the vet techs who gave shots and love to our boy to the ladies answering my many calls & texts, we knew we were in good hands as was our pup. This practice provides a non-judgmental, open-minded space for their clients, both furry and human. I truly cannot recommend Health & Harmony enough. When you come here, you and your pet will be in the care of competent, caring, lovely humans.

I can honestly say that EVERYONE in this office cares so much about your pets. I've been coming to Health & Harmony for about 2 year and have never, ever had a less than phenomenal experience. I have 3 small senior dachshunds, and I love that the whole team get down on their level, and will do the exams on the floor instead of the metal table. I recently had to put one of my dogs to sleep, and I received multiple messages and cards from individual team members at H&H, and I just thought it was so nice that they each took the time to shared condolences. I also have to add, that we LOVE Dr. Molly Cassandra!! I rescued 2 dogs in November that were in horrible shape (almost dead tbh), and with Dr. Cassandra help, they both made such great turn arounds! I love that none of the staff are pushy with medications or vaccines - since my dogs are so old and don't leave the house, I prefer to take a less-is-more approach, and they respect that, and in most cases even agree with the decision. Another one of my dogs had a small mass removed by Dr. West about a year ago and I was very worried that it was cancerous. Right after the surgery Dr. West herself called, and let me know that everything went great. A few days later she also called with the biopsy results and they were negative. I thought it was a special touch that I got to speak with her directly instead of passing the notes off to someone else. All the tech, assistants, and ladies at the front desk are SO SO nice. After 2 years, I have so many more wonderful things I could say, but I'll wrap it up there. THANK YOU Dr. Molly Cassandra, Dr. West, Dr. Erwin, Anneliese, Emma, Hayleigh, Lindsey, Nicole & everyone else at the H&H team

There are no words to describe how helpful the people at Health and Harmony are. We just found out that one of my two cats has a rare disease. They really listen to all my concerns and have spent a lot of time with me because we're trying to help him find the right path for care. They really care about all their patients and the owners. You can easily make an appointment, they answer questions quickly, and it's a great place to take your pet. Superstars all around. ❤️
