How to Save Money at Georgesville Road Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

So I schedule appointment for the first time, so since it's my first time I had to pay before services, visit!! Crazy I can't believe I Even did that never Heard such thing! Then I had emergency come up and couldn't remember the time I was suppose to be there! So I called and of course for sent to voicemail! Told them I couldn't make it! They sunny send you a reminder or anything because they want to such your money up sadly, who cares about the animal!!! They called back and left message and said I would have to pay again since it wasn't 24 hours notice, first I didn't know I was going to have emergency in then 24 hours!! So I can't cancel in 24 hours! So now screw then I wouldn't bring a dead rat there! To me they don't care about the animal, it's about the money to them!! So calling the bank and doing a dispute!! Thanks

Yesterday I had to have my elderly dog euthanized. I would like to thank Dr. Lee & Dr. Rader and Rachel and all the staff for all the years of care, guidance and compassion provided to me and my precious girl.

My old vet gave me antibiotics for both dogs when one had a contagious disease, and I told them they shared toys, food bowl and picked butt's etc. Georgesville Animal Hospital says I have to bring in separate samples and treat them after another test. As one heals the other is infected by the feces as this cycle continues.

We leave our pet's healthcare & well being to the most amazing & compassionate vets (and staff--particularly Brooke & Jon!) that I have ever had the pleasure of trusting my little fury friends to. I feel absolutely confident in stating that Dr. Lee Kittle & Dr. Karol Troyer are by far the finest veterinarians this side of the continental United States. Dr. Troyer, without hesitation gave my puuppy and I, on a moments notice, an emergency appoinntmennt when she could hear the urgency in my voice and my thoughts of why I thought my puppy was critically ill with the life threatening illness Parvo. I felt so much relief after her appt. Dr. Troyer let me know that my puppy was not "out of the woods" yet. But ex]ressed to me "I am quite certain that u may have very well, saved your puppy's life getting her in here today". She was pretty lifeless and could not control her bowels. Brooke, vet tech further explained to me how excruciating this illness is the dog world. It sounded to me that it was such a horrible and cruel ×ay to lose a pet; especially when I felt it was so obvious to me that there was something so very wrong with my puppy. She went daily to vet for nearly a week. Today, my Ginger is the most vibrant, beautiful puppy there is. Thank you Dr. Troyer, Dr. Rader, Brooke, Jon, and all of the fine staff at Georgesville Animal Hospital!! Dr. Lee Kittle saved my chihuahua, who I discovered crying under my bed one afternoon. She had emergency surgey, resulting in removal of some female parts. She recovered beautifully!! The passion for animals; coupled with the understanding of the greatness and happiness they bring to our lives daily, is so well felt the minute you enter this animal hospital. They have award winning qualities unmatched by any other of this kind. I love them!! Peanut says thank you! Ginger says GREAT JOB IN SAVING ME! Thanks!! Taffy says, my mommy (owner) knew she could count on u guys!!

Always very sweet with my dog. And the staff is kind enough to send a written copy of the options discussed because I have ADHD and don't process speech well.
