How to Save Money at Elemental
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Let me preface..Valerie the groomer is incredible! HOWEVER…. The gentleman at the front desk is so RUDE & unprofessional! This is the 2nd time I’ve called to schedule a grooming for my dog. I will spare you the long review because this time was just as bad! I wasn’t able to schedule because he INSISTED that my dog had not been seen there! So my dog has been seen at elemental for 7yrs. I called to schedule a grooming. The gentleman first could not find my dog in the system..just like he did the first time. However, this time my daughter gave me the invoice from a previous visit..so I provided the acct number. He then went on to say that rocco was past due on his shots & that i needed to get those taken care of first. so as he gave me the available appt times, i asked if i could drop him off in the am, then pick him up. He then went on to say that they don't take new dogs. He said he had not been there since 2019! He said this bc apparently would b considered a new dog because of his expired vaccination! It was a complete lie! He was seen in 2022! I had the invoice for proof! I advised him that my dog had been there for 7yrs. . So all he needed was an update shots. He then abruptly told me he would call me back. (he said this before, but never got a call back). so i immediately said i would take the appt time before he was able to hang up on me. at one point i asked to speak w the manager but refused SO SO SO RUDE!

The front desk guy lies like a teenage guy. I wanted to change my appointment just a few minutes after scheduling it, and I don’t know why he somehow didn’t like it and told me they didn’t have availability until three weeks after, while a few minutes ago, when I was scheduling my appointment that was not the case. Dude, this is about our poor pets who need help as soon as possible. Don’t be like that.

So 2 weeks ago, I called them and spoke to a very nice young lady about getting our 2 cats groomed. I had to check with my wife regarding which of us would take them. Called back less than 10 minutes later and the phone was answered by a very rude man, who only yelled "We are not accepting anymore clients!". When I asked to speak to his manager, I was put on hold with the nice young lady picking up. She said there had been a mistake (they were not taking any new clients) but since she had just spoken to me, she would make an appointment. Fast forward to today, when I stopped to drop off their vaccination records. I waited about 10 minutes in line behind 3 people. When it was my turn, I walked up the counter, only to be greeted by the rude ID10T, who said please sit down over there until I get done with these people ( who had walked in behind me). Seriously??? What am I -invisible chopped liver??? When I tried to explain why I was there, he grew even ruder. Guess you can't teach that DOG customer service tricks. He has about as much customer expertise as Putin has compassion for Ukrainians. Going elsewhere even if it costs more.

Whatever awful man works at the front counter / receptionist should not be interacting with customers. Beyond rude and disrespectful, doesn’t know what he’s doing or how to do his job, and overall left me with an unpleasant taste for Elemental. I’ve been coming here for over 7 years and have never been treated so poorly. My stomach is still in knots after having to interact with him.

My husband and I found the staff at Elemental Vet Clinic to be very professional, caring, and accommodating. To say Dr. Sean Surman is an exceptional veterinarian would be an understatement. He helped us care for our aging dog who had a plethora of unique health conditions when we moved to Columbus and needed to re-establish veterinary care. Dr. Surman and the team at Elemental were so incredibly kind, accommodating, & informative when we had to put our dog down when his health took a turn for the worse. I am forever grateful for their kindness & generosity through a VERY difficult situation.
