How to Save Money at Alliance Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Just a cute place! Was sent to Main Street when Broadway had to reschedule and it was a great experience. The techs and vets were kind and helpful, there was even a fish tank in the exam room that entertained the kitten while we waited for less than 10 minutes. Would return or recommend to others!

The team at Alliance always treat my dogs with kindness and thoroughly and professionally. I'm always happy to share that every x-ray I have received a 100% accurate puppy count, which is very important for me. Thank you, Alliance!

I’ve been very happy with the care my animals receive. I’ve seen several doctors from Dr Patti, Dr. Donovan and Dr K, they are honest and willing to work with you and answer your questions with patience. My mother sees Dr Grey and likes her too. The receptionist I saw today was very kind also. Jack was happy today, as was Cornbread! Asher is a scaredy cat lol. Thank you.

TL;DR: I highly recommend Alliance on Main and Dr. Gray to any pet owners; they offer fair pricing and honest care for the well-being of the animals. I always feel like both my dog (Nova, a just under 2-year-old Rottweiler mix) and I are truly being cared for when seeing Dr. Gray and when contacting Alliance. I first met Dr. Gray when asking a close family friend (who has done lots of rescue service for many years) for recommendations on veterinarians to give a trustworthy second opinion on the heart surgery Nova needed as a puppy. When I first met with her, I could tell that she was really taking in all the information that she could about Nova, and I felt that she was truly offering her best advice. This made us decide to bring Nova back and make Alliance/Dr. Gray Nova's primary vet. Every time we have visited since, whether for a regular check-up or for a stomach issue or something else, I have felt that Dr. Gray was honestly spending her time with us gathering the appropriate information and truly taking care to offer the best she can for Nova. I never feel as though she is rushing to move on or as though she is just trying to bill us for as much as possible. I always leave feeling that Nova was properly cared for and that Dr. Gray honestly cared about helping Nova. Something else that I find exceptional about Alliance is that they call to check up on Nova even if I took her to another vet. A couple times, I have taken her to OPVMC because it is closer to us and I needed quick, walk-in service. Every time, the very next day, Alliance staff sees that she went to another vet, and takes it upon themselves to reach out to me to check on Nova. This speaks volumes to me, and I appreciate that they care enough about my dog to check in on her, even when I didn't take her there. They never try to convince me that I should've just brought her there; they simply ask how she's doing, if she's okay, and offer assistance should any further problems arise. Dr. Gray has even asked me to report back to her personally on how Nova is doing following an appointment, just out of her own care and concern. And, the office staff always treat both me and Nova with respect, even if it's the third time they've received a call from me in the same week. Alliance has been quite reasonable with pricing, and Dr. Gray herself even caught a mistake (when a test was accidentally run and charged for, but we which we had agreed not to run). It was totally honest mistake. When she realized this, she could have just let it be and hoped that I wouldn't notice or ask for a refund. Instead, she called me, told me that she recognized the mistake, and offered to refund me. That, I believe, is truly honest work, and makes me feel even better about continuing to bring Nova to Alliance. I feel that they care about more than simply getting paid, and I feel that my dollars are being used effectively. Overall, I greatly appreciate Alliance and the great service that has been provided to me and Nova. I would wholeheartedly recommend Alliance (Main St.) and Dr. Gray to any pet owner.

Dr. Gray is wonderful. She’s so kind and so sweet to my dog, Bennett. She answers all of my questions thoroughly and expresses genuine concern when there’s something unusual going on. Switching to Alliance was a great decision; it’s difficult to find a vet that you truly trust your animal to be in good hands with. I’m not familiar with all of the staff—there seems to be different front office and clinical employees each time I’m there, which is probably a good thing for them considering the staffing shortages businesses are experiencing right now—but they’re always so helpful, friendly, and personable, no matter who’s working. I’m lucky to have found such an attentive and caring office for all of my boy’s needs. I definitely recommend this place!
