How to Save Money at Stone Ridge Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I was calling so many places to get my dog a visit for an xray and no one would see me. Everyone was booked up. I was calling for over a week. I called and they told me I could come in the very next day. Very nice staff. Very great doctors. I wish it were under better circumstances but this is a great place. These people genuinely care. Thank you guys again for seeing my bear.

Dr Wylie was very professional when putting our 2 dogs down 2 weeks apart. She stayed with us the whole time and reassured us that that was the right thing to do. Not only that but she’s gorgeous. Lol.

I had an appointment scheduled but once put into the exam room the wait time was over 45 minutes, this time along with every other time I have visited. My dog is medicated to come in to the visits and waiting that long for an anxious dog is unrealistic. I complained to the vet about the wait time and she (Dr. Pauline Bowser) with a smart attitude said "would you be this upset if it was a doctor's appt for yourself?" YES, YES I WOULD! They do not care about your pets needs and only tried to keep selling me stuff. Then today in the mail I got a letter stating "It seems they can no longer fulfill my veterinarian needs and they can no longer retain me as a client at their practice." What a joke, they kicked us out as a client because I was unhappy with the wait time! I would not recommend this practice ever!!!

I will write a better review when we actually go for the first time but as far as service and calling back the woman who set me up with his appointment and vaccine was wonderful! I was referred here by my sister in law who had worked for a different vet clinic herself so I already know this will be a good experience but as I said I will write a better review after his appointment the 22nd! **update** this vet office is great! Loved both the tech and the dr and they made it so I can actually afford his care plan by letting me combine 2 appointments into 1 for his vaccines! So they will help find a solution! I was told they could vaccinate my kitten which they could not due to the timing of when the adoption clinic gave his last shot, but like I said they helped me find a solution to pay for one appointment instead of having to return to the vet twice! Also I just want to touch on how wonderful the Dr was that seen him! She was caring she gave good advice and they even gave us a complimentary nail trim which is nice especially since my kitten is in his playful stage! Definitely will be our home vet for any animals we may have in the future and our kitten was actual very calm and not upset or anxious at all and I believe the staff had a lot to do with that

Stone Ridge Veterinary Hospital is excellent! They were so gentle with my nervous little dog that they were able to handle him, check his teeth, and vaccinate him without a growl or nip! In other veterinary offices, he's been more difficult to handle. Their compassion really shows, and the animals notice too!
